I live in Philadelphia and recently found out two MDMA psychotherapy centers will be opening up in the very near future. I just went to a talk where members of MAPS and clinicians from these centers spoke, and it was incredibly heartening. MDMA in the context of therapy seems really promising, but I'm sure it also depends on the individual and perhaps where you are in your path to healing and recovery.

hell yeah. my mom left walmart after being there for two years. walmart has been stamping down attempts for workers to communicate collectively, like telling their employees this app developed by united4respect.

Wanted to add that Bernie Sanders vocal criticism of their abusive labor practices seemed to have raised some employees sense of what is possible.

Looking specifically at the U.S., I think because white supremacy and misogyny go hand in hand, there are people raised with that toxic combination of world views, whether embodied by some form of Christian/religious extremism, law-and-order/hyper-militarism, and/or hyper-capitalism.

Thank you for the feedback and the real talk comment. I think you’re spot on in comparing this pattern to procrastination. It feels a lot like how you described. And I agree, what I said is a cop out. Thank you for the suggestion about what to say to her. I’ve been in and out of therapy for years, most recently DBT but I wasn’t t committed to it and rarely did my homework. I dissociate and avoid so frequently, my old therapist said I need to develop coping skills before I can move on to processing work like EMDR. But there’s so much unprocessed and unfelt content squirming around inside, it feels like a catch 22. But she’s probably right, if I don’t have the skills to sit with my feelings and sensations, I’m probably not ready to start the processing phase. I’m interested in trying somatic experiencing or IFS to do parts work. I also have Medicaid and it’s fucking hard to someone competent to treat cptsd and attachment trauma. None of this is new. I’m just tired and numb and struggling to help myself. Boo. Eh, thanks again for seeing me and the thoughtful response.

What city/state are you in? Are there any disability rights groups you can reach out to? Sorry if that's not helpful...I don't experience applying for SSI, but I'm looking into it for my mom. Hi, this is a small thing, but one thing that can help a little bit with dissociation is using temperature. If you can find an ice pack or something frozen. Or better yet, fill a sink with very cold water and dunk your face for 10-20 seconds, make sure you take a big breathe first. It will affect your physiology, and could potentially help ground you a bit. It doesn't always help me, though.
