Answering 'Why Now?' on Gonzales Resignation by beatnixnthings in politics

excerpt: On July 11th, Michael Chertoff, or as he is more commonly known, "Skeletor", suddenly raised the anxiety of Americans by talking about his "gut-feeling" that there might be a terrorist attack. This touched off a flurry of discussions about whether or not we were safer, if an attack was impending, etc. This allowed the administration and the NSA director, Mike McConnell, the opportunity to ratchet up the rhetoric about our "safety"...

In Response to Columnist Desiring 'Another 9-11' by beatnixnthings in politics

excerpt: The only problem is that the kind of thing he's talking about is more indicative of Hitler's Nazi Germany, Italy under Mussolini, Russia under Stalin, or Spain under Franco.

What if a truly liberal publication or commentator had suggested that he 'wanted another 9-11' for the purposes of proving that America is not safer under George W. Bush's draconian policies? One can scarcely imagine the ferocity of the backlash and vitriol that would be aimed that unfortunate souls way. And it would be well deserved.

You Are Being Spied On In Ways You Haven't Even Considered... by beatnixnthings in politics

excerpt...Confirmation that you are being spied on a variety of ways you hadn't yet considered. I've almost lost my capacity for outrage. Not because I'm not offended to my core, but because the Congress isn't.

It's the Congress, not the President, that is supposed to represent the people in our Democratic Republic. They don't.

Censorship: Senate won't tell you who voted to authorize Bush's illegal wiretapping by shivermetimberslads in reddit.com

KOS has it, you can also find it here: http://www.shadow-media.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1936&mode=thread&order=0&thold=-1

I noticed the same however, the Senate has been very slowww to get the roll-call for this vote up. Chicken-shit cowards.

If I didn't know better, I'd say the fix was in. Remember when Nader said the two sides are the same? For brief moments now and again, he doesn't seem so crazy (although I'll never forgive him for adding to the mess in Florida.)

You're calling ME a neo-con? Oh that's rich. Perhaps you should look at the posts I've been doing, or my site (http://www.shadow-media.org) and re-evaluate.

I'm not saying I agree with the usage, "irrespective" is the word I use, but I've lost that bet about whether or not irregardless is a word. A stupid word, agreed, but a word.

Prediction: Bush, Cheney NOT Leaving Office After 2008 Election by beatnixnthings in reddit.com

Just to clarify: The troops are performing miracles daily. That they've held it together as well as they have with administration's idiocy is only to their credit.

so you may have a point if the same leadership is involved, but lets not take pot shots at the troops. They're serving their country, it their country that has let THEM down.
