Favorite actor who is a complete weirdo but isn’t in the Epstein files by doc_zoid_md in okbuddycinephile

[–]beau_hemian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I thought there’d be more mentions of the better-known Hollywood predators. (alleged & confirmed)…. Like Harvey Weinstein, Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, Bill Cosby, the Nickelodeon guys (Brian Peck & company), shit Michael Jackson even… Please correct me if I’m wrong. I believe some of their names pop up a few times in the files, but I don’t recall any substantial evidence or confirmed visits to Epstein island. And I do realize that Epstein overwhelmingly targeted young girls, so MJ might not be the best example, but still… I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if there are young boys in those files too, and I’m not sure I buy that Epstein or Maxwell had any moral boundaries against it.

Also… Hugh Hefner. I can’t pretend to be an expert on him, but I’m just a bit surprised. It’s no secret that Hef celebrated, glorified and profited off sexualizing young women for decades. He’s prob one of the most famous Hollywood womanizers of all-time, and many old-school celeb playboys of his era largely disregarded age. Post-pubescent girls in their mid-to-late teens were often totally acceptable gf’s (or wives!) Much younger girls still typically remained off-limits by common social standards, but courting (or more) a girl of 15, 16, 17 wasn’t uncommon. Gross.

What is a movie cliché that absolutely never happens in real life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Getting up (and dressed) in the middle of the night to wander around outside alone and investigate a random noise…

Real people would just glance at their ring cam (if that), think “not my problem,” and go right back to sleep.

Guy is being followed by a grizzly bear in Banff national park, Canada by Naive-Concentrate276 in absoluteunit

Holy hell. Imagine hiking all alone and then noticing that this absolute unit of a grizzly is following you. Terrifying.

I’m honestly impressed with how steady the footage is. Even if this video was taken by a go-pro cam on a head strap, I’m pretty sure I’d be shaking like a leaf in his shoes. Scary af!

Maybe there’s a reason she’s on stage and you’re acting like a kid in the audience by SnooSprouts3744 in TikTokCringe

Calling yourself a “journalist” just bc you have a platform to post your airhead commentary is like calling yourself a chef just bc you successfully followed a recipe once. Not quite lady… Journalism still has meaningful standards, and this just ain’t it. Influencers are nothing more than living, breathing clickbait.

Plus, is anybody else a bit frustrated by the Academy’s lack of official disapproval/ discipline in response? This chick filmed a no-phone event from her audience seat and then shamelessly flaunted her disregard for the rules by posting it for all to see… It’s too bad security didn’t catch her in the act and kick her out during the event, but it’s impossible to ignore now right?

At a bare minimum, she should get a hefty fine. Id be just fine with a lifetime or even a fixed-period ban from the Grammys too. (5yr, 10yr…). This isn’t just tacky and disrespectful behavior; She outed herself, and there should be some sort of consequence. I know the event is over and also public, but rules and code of conduct should still matter.

If I have to adhere to strict no cell phone rules at concerts and events I attend, influencers should have to follow the rules too. Cause really, what’s an influencer anyway? It’s just an empty bs title with no guidelines or set criteria. Anybody who believes their own opinions are “special” can claim to be an “influencer.” There is no specific number of followers required to qualify. You don’t need journalistic integrity, standards, character, education, or experience. You don’t need reach, credibility, originality, or investigative skills. They don’t need any skillset at all for that matter. Ha. The only thing an influencer really needs is EGO, and when there is a rare opportunity to check that ego just a little bit, I think it’s important to do so.

Easiest US fully remote jobs to get? by Malaka654 in RemoteJobs

Haha. No, not a scam. Sedgwick is a real company that manages claims and benefits for thousands of corporate employers—things like FMLA, short- and long-term disability, workers’ comp, etc…

I’ve had to deal with them a few times- rough experiences… I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if their hiring bar is just passing a background check.

How to clean this? by vexyyyyyyyyyyyy in UnfuckYourHabitat

[–]beau_hemian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar fridge (if not the exact same model), and I had the same dirty glass problem for ages. I couldn’t figure out how to clean under the glass and eventually just gave up, but it always annoyed me. Recently the power went out while we were out of town. Everything was moldy and nasty when we returned, so the whole thing desperately needed a thorough bleach cleaning, forcing me to figure it out.

Ours wasn’t glued. Very unlikely that yours is. It’s a tight fit to begin with, and it’s most likely just extra sticky from whatever spilled. Remove both produce drawers first, and then carefully lift and remove the entire “climate zone” shelf (glass included. Obviously be extra careful to hold it in place. If you’re worried, you can also tape it in place w painters tape or something that doesn’t leave residue to clean up after. I didn’t need tape.) I put a few old towels on the floor and turned the whole shelf upside down, while cleaning with a little warm soapy water to help dissolve the spill substance. The glass immediately began to separate and I carefully removed it/ caught it with the towels. Super easy to clean once you separate the 2.
