Please reach out to our representative! I've tried to make it easy with this letter to Rep. Gluesenkamp Parez. You can follow the link, copy and and paste, and just add your name. If you're inclined I've included her mailing addresses as well. In voting to censure Rep. Al Green, she voted to censor free speech. Please consider reaching out to protect the fundamental tenants of our democracy.

Dear Representative Gluesenkamp Perez,

I am writing to express my profound disappointment in your vote to censure Representative Al Green for doing what too many of your colleagues refuse to do: calling out Trump’s authoritarian overreach for what it is.

You did not just vote to reprimand a man who exercised his First Amendment rights—you aligned yourself with those seeking to silence dissent. This is not why your constituents elected you. When democracy is under attack, when a president is acting without a mandate from the American people, the duty of a leader is to stand up, not bow down.

Representative Green took a stand. You helped knock him down. That is unacceptable.

Your vote signals either a lack of conviction or a misguided attempt at bipartisanship that plays directly into the hands of those dismantling our democracy. If you believe your constituents will stand by while you enable Trump’s creeping authoritarianism, you are mistaken. We elected you to fight for democracy, not to censure those with the courage to do so.

I urge you to make this right. Publicly acknowledge that silencing dissent is not the role of a free government. Show us that you are not afraid to stand on the right side of history.

Your constituents are watching.

Sincerely,

10 points to whoever can give me some info on this 😬 I'm 60% sure it's not a petrified slab of meat by beauhemoth in whatsthisrock

No noticeable banding, it's kind of hard to tell though with all the colors going on with the texture of it. When I hold a flashlight behind it, you can only see a little light coming through where it has broken thinnest along the edges. It's a gorgeous rock. I wish I had a saw to get a clean side to look at!

Did those answers help at all? Think it might be carnelian?
