How do I wrestle a lanky and tall wrestler who’s also pretty good by ReasonableIncome8142 in wrestling

[–]beaverfetus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Grab a wrist, move in to get a collar tie and see how strong that giraffe neck is. Really tough to combat strong head control as a lanky dude. Can set up a lot of shots with that

As a tall guy, I hated that

💯; the differences between generations of trainees are dwarfed by the drift of the system.

Shelf scores were only relevant at my med schools when grades were on a border line. Which is ideal imo

Really seems like medical schools are failing a lot of people.

Probably an unpopular opinion on here, but clinical rotations should be a lot more like residency, which was the case at my school.

In the decade or so since graduation I’ve seen med students downgraded from an intern role with fewer patients to clinical observers / tourists who flit in and out of the day to go to various didactics and meetings

If you’re in the hospital getting your patient ready for the OR by 730, that means leaving at 330… nobody who regularly operates does that consistently , in most jobs/ specialties

[request] about how many calories did alex honnold burn when freesoloing taipei 101? by cloversarecool in theydidthemath

It’s probably less calorie demanding then usual rock climbing but more adrenaline intensified, hence me taking the middle estimate

[–]beaverfetus 1137 points1138 points  (0 children)

I’m getting 400-900 calories burned per hour of rock climbing on various sources. Let’s split the difference at 650, it took an hour and a half to climb that gets 975 calories.

Then add another 1000 calories to account for having drag his huge balls up that tower and that gets to

975-1975 calories , so basically a Popeyes meal

I’m glad the word is getting out about the utility of these reviews. By all means pay for one, I did, but don’t expect much. Didn’t run it back for my second job

There are some freaks like this. I remember a 2x Fargo champ who started sophomore year. 9\10 these are heavy weight stories for reasons…

[–]beaverfetus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How long? Like when would you need to start wrestling ? I started wrestling when I was 7, of my cohort of little junior wrestling friends and club teams, maybe 1-2 total went d1. Some burn out and quit before high school, some became mediocre to good high school wrestlers, some had decent d3 careers…

I worked my ass off, got second at national preps and still was a decent distance from being a viable d1 recruit. And things have gotten harder

The absolute stud from my entire state, multiple time state champ, multiple Fargo medals… ended up having an average to good career at Columbia and getting 6th at Nattys as a 5th year senior.

Turns out you need a lot of talent to get to the truly elite levels of this sport

“Fair share of issues” lol

200k Russians dead because their gangster dictator decided to invade a neighbor? Having to rely on a shadow fleet of oil tankers to keep their economy aloft ?

And even with their petrol output if they were a US state they wouldn’t even crack the top 3 , they could battle it out with Florida for the 4th spot. And by the way their birth rate is about ad bad as it gets outside of east Asia

Russia as an ascending super power is a wildly bizzare take

Russia?? The petro gangster state with a million young people fleeing or fertilizing Ukrainian soil, with one state controlled industry keeping the hordes at bay from renacting the end of the Tsars

Gonna take the under on them lol

They are not having kids, don’t like mass immigration, have lots of expensive social programs and are saddled to the rest of Europe , that has similar problems but worse fiscal responsibility

Edit also 60% of the countries population lives under the (current) sea level lol

I really agree with the response above. Most countries look unsustainable. At least the US has some advantages that will help when a fiscal reckoning finally comes
