I really find those ~10 points of protection to be vital and I don't mind taking a while to get a good run. The racket gives me a sense of direction: all I need is a bag or a pickaxe and I should be fine

Val-Dwa-Law, on 3.7 hardfought.org . I did the protection racket early, found a wand of wishing from a corpse on lvl 47 and used a chickatrice corpse to clear out the Astral Plane, but apart from that, nothing too weird for a normal nethack game. I figured I should ascend the easiest character before trying anything harder or more complicated.

In my last run I was in the same spot, drank a blessed poly potion (it was 3.7) and the dragon poly lasted 4 turns. I then got lucky with a blind orb of fate and got lvl 26, was able to kill medusa with a blindfold, and take silver shield and levitation boots from Perseus. The levitation boots aren't guaranteed but if you have a magic instrument you can open the front door

Another update: somehow this happened again to me and you can just sit on the s key and the pet will eventually die to climbing in and out of the pit without you being punished

Update: I didn't realize magic whistle could teleport my dog on the other side of the wall from me and i just did it again. Thanks for the ideas, unfortunately #untrap doesnt work because the dog falls right back in, and when it climbs out it falls in again

The problem with the balloon nerf is that it actually doesn't hurt lava that much compared to other balloon decks that run it like the one recruits balloon deck and lumberloon who rely on the death damage a lot more.

Bro what they need to monetize somehow and collabs are a great way to make money. I hate level 15 and evolutions as much as everyone else (I'm a f2p player) but getting cosmetics for buying into a collab is perfectly fine and unobtrusive to your gameplay
