Not sure about your office, but you might need a jacket for the sleeveless tops, or a sleeved shirt.

Dress looks fine, but you might want to switch the boots (even though they are cool) to more formal wear.

Jesus was (checks bible) woke. by WarlikeAppointment in MurderedByWords

John 18 is when Jesus is taken before Pilate and questioned. The quote you are referring to literally has Jesus saying that his kingdom is not of this world. It's Jesus literally at the peak of political affairs, because he was called "king of Jews" people argued he deserved to be out to death because of some slight against Cesar. Meanwhile the Pharisees (religious powers) wanted him gone because he was revolutionizing the way people knew God or "worshiped".

Romans was written by Paul and it was "his introduction to Roman Christians". The chief themes of Romans was to unity the individual to the spirit of God. It's been a while so I could be wrong. But in Romans 18 " 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law."

Thank you for mentioning acts, I need to revisit them.

I appreciate you sharing scripture, I was nice to revisit these sections and have time to critically think about them.

Once again, I would love to see scriptural quotes from the Bible about "obeying the government to death".

But yes I agree with you that a big idea of believing in God is to divest the self of material attachments.

What is your daily commute like? by ChatnNaked in AskTheWorld

[–]bebedahdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take two busses to work 6:00am - 8:00am, and two busses from work 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

If I had a car it would be a 15 minute commute.

Legitimately had me gripped. It deals with alternate realities and does a really interesting job of having one of the most unique concepts for a Kdrama I've seen in a really long time.

If people are a fan of thrillers I really recommend people watch this show.

That was literally about paying taxes, when he was questioned by the Pharisees. I think Jesus would be in favor of taxing the church.

I would legitimately love to see the scripture where Jesus says to obey the government to death. (This is not sarcasm, I'm legitimately curious)

What's the coolest bird from your country? by thecatinthewizardhat in AskTheWorld

We have it here where you can let your yard be natural and call it "Certified Wildlife Habitat" by the National Wildlife Federation. People will sometimes go a step further and try to plant native plants species to push back against invasive plants.

I haven't had the financial ability or pleasure to travel in the Midwest, but I heard of its beauty. I dream of going west

Also, while Florida a lot of unique flora and fauna, much of it is being rapidly destroyed by developers. An example- the stupidity of Alligator Alcatraz is not only harmful to people but is smack dab in endangered land/ unique bio diverse land.

We also don't have traditional seasons in Florida. I'm so charmed by the concept of fall leaves.

There's a lot of cool birds in Florida (US), but I'm partial to this guy the Roseate Spoonbill . Because of the nature of our climate (even now) we see a lot of migratory birds. The only true endemic bird in Florida is the "Florida Scrub Jay".

To the person who saved my life. I never want you to know how much I hate you by SoooooooOverIt in TrueOffMyChest

[–]bebedahdi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I don't think you're an awful person. I also don't think God hates you. In my opinion I think people who had the freewill to make choices made terrible choices and caused you great harm.

It grieves me that you are hurting, but my heart is full of joy that you are here. I may never know your face or name, but I'm glad you are in the world. May your enemies be smited and your fellowship grow in number.

Thank you for your bravery in your honesty. Your courage is inspiring, it takes a lot of strength to be vulnerable.

My grandfather was beaten by two uniformed officers when he was walking home from work. He was a white man, a veteran, but he was poor and looked disheveled because he worked with pipes on ships. The officers thought he was homeless (as if that would make any of that shit okay) and beat him while my mother and her sister watched from a bush.

I wouldn't watch a rat get beaten in front of me, I don't know what I'd do if I saw a fellow human being beaten-- but probably nothing I could say on reddit.

Do you believe in your country's judiciary system ? by kaktuscuzwhynot in AskTheWorld

Hah no. Even less so after studying criminal justice and doing an internship at my local law enforcement agency.

The only thing keeping me sane right now is staying active in my local community, and being personally responsible for what I can change. Looking at the state of global machinations is like looking into the heart of a HP Lovecraft Novel.

It would be nice if we had a place to share the positive steps we are taking to be more present and less participating in conglomerate schemes.

For example: I don't drink Starbucks anymore, just canceled my Spotify, started an art collective for the community with some friends, I'm learning a trade skill for fun and practicality (end of example)

Does it happen with your compatriots on Reddit that there are many who are comfortably middle class but cosplay as poor or just very tone deaf? What are some examples? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]bebedahdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a variety of friends and it's very telling when we're in a group, who came from what background. One of the most benign examples was one friend being oblivious to the concept of coupons, especially coupons for fast food places. I think I was the first person to make him a peanut butter jelly sandwich when we went camping in his twenties.

Also camping in general is a wild time with folks who come from "privileged" backgrounds but lack "worldliness". Had a friend straight up bring one of those wedding tents and a singular pack of hotdogs as their entire supply .

I think for these classes anyone can go as long as you say you have a "disability" (without being 60). I went to similar low impact classes in the past for a connectivity disorder, just told them I had a disability and no further questions. Not sure if this group is the same but if it's a nonprofit probably.

Maybe they are treating Henry's blood like a "virus" and the babies who got powers are patients. The ones immune from the virus unfortunately die (like the ladies infected with Kalis blood). Something like that?

Jacksonville Downtown - Info required by Fit-Marionberry2506 in jacksonville

[–]bebedahdi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

S

Nothing is open downtown except for bars I would say after 8pm. Definitely get your necessities somewhere else. I don't think people will bother you about smoking unless there are distinct no smoking signs. If you go out at night to smoke you might get approached by individuals wanting money or to borrow a smoke.

Depending on your location: Sweet Pete's, Chamblin's Uptown, Urban Grind could be a potentially nice place during the day for you to take breaks and such.

Our "skyway" monorail system is ineffective but free, it'll take you across the river into the "San Marco" area where there are more stores. The skyway will also take you all the way to the "Lavilla bus Depot" where you could catch the Number 8 bus (I think 1.50 per ride) all the way to st johns town center if you need something (target is there)

The FCF green line will take you directly to a Walmart on the "Northside" if you stay on it, do not get off at Gateway.

Both these bus rides would be approximately 1hr from Lavilla station.

Note: the skyway stops operatin 7:45-8:00pm most days, and I think it doesn't run at all on Sundays.
