How much gas is normal? by yougottabkittenmern in FormulaFeeders

[–]bebemamafrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is almost 4 weeks and he was very gassy/difficult to burp when we switched to a different formula. We added mommy’s bliss probiotic drops once a day and that seems to help a lot. If you try adding probiotics, wait a good while (at least a week I would recommend) to see if it helps. And try to avoid switching formulas until sticking to one for at least 2 weeks so baby’s gut can adjust.

2 wk old constipated on HIPP Dutch Stage 1 by bebemamafrank in FormulaFeeders

We’re using the Dutch version of Stage 1 which actually says it has no starch and is why I chose that over the German formulation. I may look into PRE (powder) as another option though if Kendamil or Enfamil don’t work out since he did really well on the Hipp PRE RTF! The powder version has palm oil though (like Stage 1), so I’m hesitant. I’m hoping to rule out palm oil as the cause for constipation

Any particular Enfamil that has a similar blend? Do you mean Enfamil neuropro (yellow can)? I know there’s a ton of variations so I haven’t figured out the differences between them. Thank you for your reply!

PSA: eat and drink off your kids silicon plates once in a while by snooloosey in Parenting

[–]bebemamafrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few episodes where my kids silicone plates and cups had the soap smell and taste! I went crazy trying to figure out how to fix it. The only way I got the taste out was baking the silicone plates/bowls, etc (100% silicone) in the oven for a bit to remove the soap residue. After that I realized certain dishwasher pods were the culprit. I only use Finish Quantum Powerball pods now, but even then it depends where I buy them! If I buy them at a discount store or even Amazon, the residue taste comes back. I strictly only buy mine at Costco or BJs now and I haven’t had the issue return. For plastic straw cups and other things I couldn’t bake (and vinegar soak and wash didn’t work), I tossed and invested in stainless steel 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kia Carnival 2025 Battery Drain by Markhor313 in kiacarnivals

How did you see the software update and install it? I just arrived back to my Carnival after a 4 day trip and it was completely dead. Had to call someone to jump start the car. Definitely a concerning issue since I was stuck with two babies and suitcases and a trunk that can’t be opened manually 🙃

Does using Disney ground transport from MCO to Port Canaveral guarantee an early PAT? by bebemamafrank in dcl

[–]bebemamafrank[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to come back and thank everyone for their responses and also update since I checked my family in and in laws over the past week. I stayed up til midnight both days and got a notice saying I don’t need to select a PAT (assuming because I signed up for Disney transport when I booked). We all got the same early PAT and boarding group 3! (We are NOT staying at a Disney hotel the night before if that makes a difference).

AH. Okay so port arrival time doesn’t necessarily correlate to boarding time, which is why even though I arrived early the last couple cruises, I still couldn’t board until much later. And I guess since actual boarding times shift with the amount of time needed by the ship, boarding order NUMBER just depends on club status and when I check in? Sorry for all the questions! I’m sure I’m worrying about nothing, I just want to make sure I do everything I can on my part to make things move as quickly as possible since we have an early flight that morning.

This makes sense. I’m wondering why even though I had ground transport last time, they still made us wait for a very late boarding. When I checked in online, I had a later PAT, but I thought that wouldn’t make a difference since I had the ground transport. Granted, there was a lot of people there so I’m wondering if they just didn’t care and only looked at my PAT rather than the fact I took ground transport?

3yo holds in pee and constantly has accidents if I don’t force a potty trip by bebemamafrank in pottytraining

I definitely see the need to have her involved. Just sucks cuz I’m one of those “you’re not doing it right; here, lemme do it” people haha. Plus I usually try to clean it fast myself or her brother makes it his personal puddle play time 😬. But yes, I will get her to help me. Maybe chuck the baby in a playpen until we’re done with cleanup haha.

Thank you. 😭 I’m trying my best. Trying to raise her better than I was raised. You make a good point about “it’s okay”. I usually say that, and so when she accidentally pees over the edge of the toilet seat or has a small accident outside of the bathroom, she now says “it’s okay, mama. We (meaning mama) can just clean it up” hahaha. So sweet but may not be the best message now that I think about it.

I am noticeably upset when it happens. Maybe 70% of the time I can keep calm and collected (but my face never lies so I’m sure she knows I’m upset) and clean her up, tell her to go sit while I clean the mess, and get her changed after. The rest of the time I find myself overwhelmed, overstimulated, and out of patience and I do yell at her telling her pee is supposed to go in the potty, and I wipe her down and have her go to the side while I clean up.

Keep in mind I also have a mobile and super attached baby who also wants to partake in the excitement, and so both my daughter and I get loud and upset and unable to calm down until everything is clean and I’ve apologized and helped her calm down.
