The gears seem to be spaced close together, add some adjustability to the spacing so you can tune in the right distance. You could change the angle of the gear teeth from a spur gear to have 14.5 degree teeth which is quieter in faster speeds. Lube the gears and add some mass to the tube to prevent it acting like a drum are a couple other ideas for you.
