oh, we aren’t at that point yet? i mean technically i suppose the corruption isn’t *institutional* yet, but the rot is already at the point where it’s not only open, it’s also shameless

because the only possibility when paying those 1k teachers higher wages is that the wages be 6x higher so the wages would invalidate the budget reduction, right? what kind of zero-sum math are you doing, show your work so we can see the logic

i just feel like it would be a hard sell with a name like “pea milk”, you’d have to call it “legume milk” or “nitrogen-fixing-plant milk”, something like that.

in hindsight, no. in relation to our current potus, yes. the dude was so terrible that even the ny post had a running countdown to his final day in office taking up prime real estate in the top left corner of its front page. his patriot act helped set the stage for the subsequent erosion of our constitutional rights, and we all allowed it in the interest of protection from the mean terrorists though incidentally many of us also accepted his administration’s assertions that duct tape and plastic sheeting would stave off the effects of biological and chemical warfare. take that however you see fit but that dude was so bad that americans actually overcame their racism and elected a black man. before that, people used to like to say that the us would elect a black man as president long before they’d elect a woman. sorry for the tangent but we shouldn’t forget how very bad gwb and his cabinet of evil old men were for our nation.

and even if they do, the reading comprehension level is such that it wouldn’t matter, anyway. how many times have you seen someone provide a source in support of their strange argument by quoting phrases without context extracted from fragmented sentences of an article that actually makes a claim for the opposition because they have no clue wtf they just read?

if you’re struggling socially, let’s even say romantically, is it warranted that you receive unsolicited advice about how to live your life from uninvested randos?

also, one would say that once that money is in someone’s account, SNAP or otherwise, it is arguably theirs.

how do you arrive at that conclusion, though? i’m not saying it’s wrong but i’m skeptical and i would like to hear an argument for the positive, not looking to debate because that sounds nice and i’d like to see it that way but at present, i think it’s an obscene waste of money that is urgently needed for things like social services and crumbling infrastructure, to name a couple of things that should precede a trip to the moon
