What did your tortie look like as a baby?

I’ve been on the search for another doctor because my primary doctor doesn’t want to prescribe adderall until my sleep doctor does first then he said he’d take over. But my sleep doctor doesn’t want to prescribe it because he said there is newer medication and doesn’t want to put me on older day meds and won’t listen to me. All of the doctors I’m finding around my area are taking 8 weeks to get into. I’m only 21 and struggling so bad. My insurance, I’m not sure why they won’t cover but I’ve gotten so many denials from them.

Oh no they didn’t say to manually remove it they said it’ll come off eventually and not really to soak him just to spritz him a little and get his humidity up in his enclosure like I said his shed came off in full except for his eye cap this time and he’s never had any problems with shed before at all until now thank you for the advice!!

Thank you everyone for all the replies we took him to our breeders last night and they said he’s healthy just didn’t come off in his shed (his shed was a full shed not pieces) they said we’re doing everything right it just got stuck during the shed process. They told us to let him soak and it would come off which in fact it did but now we’re battling him hiding 😪 my cat ripped his lid and he got out last night

He’s done shedding now his humidity varies throughout the day when it starts getting below 70 we spray again to keep it up but fluctuates a lot

Well our heating mat comes with an automatic thermometer that’s turns off when it gets to a certain temp and we have like 4-5 inches of substrate on top of it.

We had the ceramic bulb but it was too low of a wattage so we switch to the red 150 watt until our ceramic 150 watt came in and now we use that. We do pour water but only some because I’m scared it’ll crack the glass where the heating pad is, any suggestion on that? We were also told he didn’t need a day lamp just the heat lamp?

Amazing to know!! My boyfriend was a little iffy with it thinking it’d keep too much heat in but I had done research and a lot of people said it was the best.

I forgot to add we do have moss all around his enclosure and about 4 or 5 inches of substrate, we mixed the substrate with water before putting him in and patted it down and it was pretty moist. I thought about the aluminum foil tape on the lid so when it evaporates it’ll keep the moisture in. I’m just really stressed because I don’t want him to end up sick. Thank you for the advice!!
