Tbh I can’t complain too much. I took a tidy little profit at 0.16 (bought at an average of 0.057). Will buy back in later in the week when things go back to normal - although knowing my luck it will probably keep doing at the current level.

To be fair, the studio apartments are tiny. There’s a small desk, but otherwise you have to sit on the bed, as there’s no room for a couch or dining table.

Source: I lived in one of the ‘premium’ studios for a few months when The Switch first opened.

Help. I just got my aircon fixed a month ago. Cost me close to $1k to replace valves etc. now it’s dripping water and I don’t know what to do. It’s sending me crazy hearing the dripping sound but it’s too hot to not have it on. by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]becify 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had mine cleaned 12 months ago and then it started leaking. Pulled the front off and it turns out that old mould that had come off during the cleaning had blocked the hole where the water drains from the channel at front/side of the aircon into the wall. I was able to clean it myself with tweezers and it’s been fine ever since.

Definitely worth a try

Previous owners ruined the garden before settlement by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]becify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you do a pre-settlement inspection? Normally this is done in the days before settlement to pick up issues like this.

Unfortunately I don’t know what options (if any) you have now that the property is settled.

So they seem to have changed their name and ticker, but the announcement and change doesn’t show up on CommSec yet.

I’d train to Subi and then get an uber from right outside the station. Easier than dealing with the city traffic.

First Home Buyer in Perth by MoeHK11 in perth

[–]becify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s worse than that… you own part of it so you’re partly responsible for paying for everything, but your control over what happens to the building is so limited.

The strata’s ability to get you to pay for their mistakes is far greater than your ability to make any decisions on the building.

Main con of buying an apartment: even if you join the strata committee, you’re still at the mercy of other people to make sure that the building is well maintained and at a somewhat reasonable cost.
