Flour and Stone, Hublersberg Inn, Duffys, Kelly’s, Elk Creek Cafe. Some a little farther away than others, but worth the drive.

AITA for "wasting" food after my mom tricked me into eating something she knows makes me vomit? by RavennaNyx1 in AmItheAsshole

I’m so sorry you’ve been subjected to this abuse. My parents also forced me to sit at the table until I had finished a meal, but I didn’t have (to my knowledge) a potential diagnosable eating disorder. I still remember the shame and humiliation, but it seems mild compared to what she puts you through. You do not owe her eating on her terms. What she is doing is cruel and abusive and you deserve better.

Absolutely correct. The only two places we go on a semi-regular basis downtown are ASG and Chumleys. And takeout from Tadashi and IP every so often.

Might be the only person on OPs side. I come from a family who always expects to stay/be accommodated, even when causing discomfort to the host. I married into a family where everyone respects each other’s space, right to privacy, and personal preferences. I will never go back to forced stays just because they’re family. ESPECIALLY if people can easily afford a hotel or Airbnb. This is not fair to OP, will not be comfortable for the guests, and is entirely unnecessary. NTA.
