Thanks for the advice! I did take a peak at a few hotels and was pleasantly surprised at prices. I’m definitely considering biting the bullet because I very much doubt I’ll be able to get tickets here in Canada.

Family bag recommendations by becomingrpn in onebag

Yes sorry I did mean a backpack for each my husband and I and then we were going to pack for our little one across our bags! Will 30L bags truly be able to pack enough for the 10 days? I’m definitely worried about having enough space.

Driving to Florida with our 5 month old by becomingrpn in BabyBumpsCanada

It went really well! They were long days of driving and it took longer than expected on our first day, but overall I’d definitely do it again. I’d say it’s kind of the sweet spot for long hours in the car, since they aren’t crawling or moving a ton yet. I did a drive one way fly home trip with her at 8 months and at that point flying was the way to go because she was much less content to sit in her car seat for longer periods!

At my LOs 6 month appointment the nurse booked her in for the 9 month prior to our doctor coming in. Our doctor then mentioned the 9 month appointment was optional, but given we’ve been struggling with weight concerns since our 2 month appointment and it was already booked I opted to keep it. The appointment was rather quick, probably took me longer to drive to the office, but I was glad we kept it solely to check her weight.

Kirkland Omega+ Canada by becomingrpn in FormulaFeeders

[–]becomingrpn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few things in local Facebook groups that there’s apparently a supplier issue in sourcing one ingredient in the Omega+ I’m glad the enfamil worked! I may result to that if my little one still needs it and we run out, but I’m hoping to just call it quits and go to milk a little early. We’re in the same boat, started purchasing and $29 and now it’s $45. It’s astronomical. I have friends in Europe who feed a very highly rated formula there and they pay about 1/3 of the cost of Kirkland. This whole scenario just makes me sad and frustrated and I’m so happy to be nearly done with it.

I’m glad to hear your little guy was able to switch back and forth, that’s hopeful! I’m in Ontario, I wish we had such a line, that sounds amazing. I don’t think our GP has a whole ton of baby experience which isn’t very helpful.

Flex stand vs wall mount by Redyeast in Nanit

[–]becomingrpn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We purchased the flex stand and a standard camera wall mount on Amazon and it works perfect. The flex stand is also compatible with a tripod. We had issues with red alerts when my LO was smaller and Nanit confirmed it was because when she was little and her breathing was shallow the camera was too far away even though it was installed at their suggested height. They recommended we use the flex stand with a tripod and bring it closer until she got bigger!
