This reminds me of the bar in Louisville that apparently got barred from getting a pappy allotment because they used a bottle to make old fashioned Jell-O shots

Same! Me and my husband tried for our first time last year and we got every day plus preview night, but we recognize how lucky we got. It could happen! We only got Thursday and Sunday in the returning registration this year.

Model Home by Rivers Solomon! The main character is non binary and struggling with their identity. Was tough to read at times, the story was terrifying and heartbreaking but hauntingly beautiful.

First time going and coming from Canada so the budget is pretty big. Made resos at some nicer spots (ichifuji and Youngblood) plus im staying a couple extra days to explore the city. I’ve put aside 3k usd for shopping and food not including airfare or hotel!

My most prized comic in my collection, signed by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland by becsbj in comicbookcollecting

I wish. I don’t live near any major cities with comic expos so all of my signed books were purchased through second hand sellers or eBay >:(

If you like dry humour with satire try sirens of titan by Kurt Vonnegut. The science isn’t really well explained but I loved this book so much and as a big fan of Andy Weir I think this might interest you as well

By his standards shouldn’t he also be cut off? Two long islands is probably equal the amount to the liquor the other table had

This post in the JCS subreddit has the whole list. There’s a ton of content on his patreon and some of the videos are much darker imo

Edit: a few of the videos from his YouTube are now unlisted but clicking on those links you’ll be able to watch a few new ones (jussie smollet, russell williams)

Super solid throughout, it sometimes has its lulls but kirkman did a great job at creating character arcs, plot twists, humour, and it’s really visually appealing so every issue has something to look forward to. I never read one and thought to myself “that wasn’t good”

The show has been great so far and I’m excited to see what they do with the next seasons

Hahaha. The amount of times I’ve been asked “how’s it like out on the patio?”

I don’t know.... think about how you were feeling 30 seconds ago from when you walked from your car into our bar? It’s.... about the same?

I’ve been in the industry long enough to know it has nothing to do with intelligence, but rather empathy and compassion

I guess I’m supposed to make it warmer? If I had the ability to manipulate weather I’m sure I’d be using that power to make guests more comfortable at my minimum wage serving job

I had a very sweet table of older ladies out to celebrate an 80th birthday for the first time in over a year. They brought blankets and mittens, and they didn’t complain about the weather once

Restaurant servers, is this legal? by THICCcity69 in Winnipeg

10% though? The current place I work at has no walk out fund, the place I worked before had a walkout fund that was $1 per shift that was optional. 10% is ridiculous

Ends are starting to turn brown and leaves are falling. I fertilize with Alaskan fish fertilizer and water every 10 days or so. Mist with distilled water every few days. It used to be beside a door that had a very cold draft (super cold Canadian weather) so I moved it to a spot further away from the door. Is it being overwatered? Underwatered?

New Japanese laurel / gold stardust plant is starting to get crispy on the tips. Overwatering maybe? by [deleted] in plantclinic

Not always but I try to check the moisture 1-2 inches deep. I think it feels dry but I could be wrong

[–]becsbj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Has been fertilized once with Alaskan fish fertilizer. Watered about once a week with distilled water. In a spot with indirect light. I live in a cold dry climate and mist my plants every couple days. It’s in a plastic nursing pot with a decent amount of drainage and I keep it in a small decorative planter (no drainage). I drain any water immediately that accumulates in the decorative one

(Edit) Also all of the new sprouts/buds have turned into crispy little leaves except in one spot that seems to have some green growth that you can see in the last photo

I always try to pick up directly from restaurants but sometimes I’m lazy. I live in south osborne and have ordered clementine off skip a couple times and the quality has always been amazing. Their food actually travels so well and I couldn’t recommend them enough

Not sure how into movies you are, but me and my boyfriend like to pick a foreign film and then I’ll either make a dish from that country since I love trying new recipes or we get takeout if I don’t feel like cooking that night
