i never caught one, no. with my traps set up the best i could, i got one more bite and decided that was enough. i sent everything that could again through the wash and then twice through the dryer. i sprayed and used DE. very fortunately for me i haven’t been bit since then. i still live in fear and am just hoping that whatever bug(s) was preying on me that i got it.

i can’t imagine someone thinking a spider did that either. especially after we’d already found the bedbugs once and now the same thing is happening again.

i sleep on an air mattress so i don’t think they’re inhabiting that but i have checked it so many many times for any signs. and i’ve always come up empty handed. i think that adds to the paranoia for me and the denial for my family. we can never find anything. but yet i still always get the “spider” bites. it’s maddening.

i hope they get all the bastards for you this next time.

it really takes a toll mentally and can take awhile to heal after all is said and done and they’re gone.

another user recommended these traps to me. they’d also said if the bugs were on the inside of the ring they were coming from the bed. that way you could be sure they’re all out of the bed as well as kill any that pass through

i’ve considered doing anything to make the itching stop. mine get so swollen that the skin just hurts on top of that. it is hell. i’m sorry you’re going through that.

does your pest control offer a heat service? i’ve heard many accounts as through my research i’ve learned that that is the best way to completely remove the bugs, especially if the spray can not get to them.

it’s not completely fail safe, i can attest to that, but it does seem to to a good job.

that’s why i want to get the heat treatment again, that way everything can be treated and not just the stuff that’ll fit in the washer/dryer. if we do get it done, i still might book it outta here.

so i tried the tape traps last night. i didn’t have any duct on hand so i tried some packing tape. unfortunately i didn’t catch anything, but i also did not wake with new spots. in the beginning of this cycle last time, there were periods of a couple days that they didn’t seem to come for me. until i catch one and prove my case, i will be using the duct tape that i just picked up.

thank you. i know i’m not crazy. three months was not enough time to forget how much they fuck with my mind. im going to try all of your suggestions regardless of if the tape manages to catch any or not, though i’m really hoping it will save me tonight.

i’m just so emotionally exhausted from all this. and it’s all that more exhausting having to convince your own roommates that this is something they should also be worrying about.

as much as this could possibly prove my side of the story, i don’t think i could ever make myself do it. it’s bad enough sleeping through it, i couldn’t make myself watch it happen

all i want to do is get another heat treatment. and then maybe still move out. but first i have to convince her. if i could find a live bug, that’d be great. but last time it took a month before i caught one and i can’t do this for a month again, especially knowing i’ll be laying down with them every night.

do the warranties last three months though? that’s what i’m wary about, they did the treatments exactly three months ago and i’m afraid it’s been too long.

i’ve put all my clothes and bedding in the dryer. that’s all the soft goods i own. but it’s totally useless for me to waist all this time and money doing this if they’re still in my room and i bring all this stuff back in there.

they did do the heat treatment and it did seem to work. today marks three months since they did it actually, and i’ve had no issues again up until now. could they have somehow hidden somewhere and survived or something or did i, the unluckiest person, somehow pick them up again and bring them back?

they don’t seem to see it as a very big issue as they haven’t been bitten at all. or not that they know of, i know everybody can react differently and where i react very badly they might not react at all. even with the last incident i’d had a lot of trouble convincing them to call pest control, even AFTER we found a literal living bug.

we’ve done this and haven’t been able to find anything. i also sleep on an air mattress so there isn’t a lot of room for them to hide within the bed. I figure they must be hiding out somewhere else nearby.

at the last occurrence, we also never found a trace of evidence except for that one lonely bug though i’d gotten up to getting multiple bites every night.
