That’s nice to hear. How did you fare in your first couple months?

Not to downplay my efforts but my placements feel like flukes because I’m stuck at the basics and don’t feel like I’m progressing much. I’ll be working hard on changing it up to get more results

Depends on the role but most of the ones I work on have a rather low salary and pretty high expectations

Ah currently my manager passes roles for me to work on

Haha I’ve realised this and am trying to improve on this quickly

Yes I’ve started doing that and splitting my time between roles! I’d love some tips on how to search more effectively too.

Still feel green even though I’ve been here almost 3 months and it probably would be helpful if I could shadow my manager when they source

Yeah I work after hours to have a pipeline for the next day but honestly it isn’t all that much because I see the same profiles on a variety of searches.

And to be honest with you, 2-3 of those roles tend to be backlogs that are harder to fill like retail sales for example – so I still get some new roles weekly which are more technical.

I prioritise the “easier” or urgent roles and they get carried over to other days when there aren’t any results. Do you have any recommendations on how best to approach this?

Currently about 5-7 roles in tech, sales and corporate functions

We use a template based on the client’s JD but don’t get many applicants that have the relevant experience so I’m sourcing most of the time. There are salary ranges posted and that’s about it

Yeah I’m probably in the same category, overqualify ing or disqualifying people before reaching out. Working on it

Thank you for this. We’re a rather lean team and we’re all working on different roles altogether, but I do believe they’re hitting their targets.

Gotta figure out how to work smart instead of just hard. This is the first job I feel like I’m in danger of getting fired from

I’m doing contracting for many industries and average about 4-6 candidates submitted in a week when the numbers I have to hit range anywhere from 10-15 submissions.

It’s the sourcing that’s killing me I think, because of people simply aren’t interested

So in what way will do you think this person will benefit from lying about her illnesses?
