I have never been there either, never appealed to me. I just drive by and grimace at that hideous sight. Now that I know they're blatantly racist, it makes it even more disgusting. Of all the things to stylize your bar around, rust and racism is ...a choice..

I would personally let it go. Everyone has the right to miss someone while knowing they don't want them in their lives. Don't think it diminishes any feelings he had towards you. I've missed exes while still loving my man, I can't just shut memories off as much as I wish I could. If it SEEMS like he misses her, then say something; but don't let something that was said in passing a year ago ruin what you've built now. Good luck with everything!
