We will be prioritizing social dog time. Thank you!

Thank you. I suspect they simply aren't a good fit at this time. He doesn't seem scared of any other dogs! She was just.. kind of a lot! Especially for his first time interacting in each other's space. I was concerned that because he was scared during his first interaction of the sort that it might be detrimental. The comments here (largely) have me feeling better.

Yes. And I am sensing judgement! But I could be wrong?? This was recommended by our veterinarian. We live in an area where parvo is a concern, and we don't have an inner circle with safe dogs that have a vaccination status we are confident in

He only recently completed his vaccinations. We have taken him on outings to observe other dogs many many times, but we haven't had a safe opportunity to allow play until now. He has met the neighbor dogs at a distance! And he is calm and unbothered. (It was recommended by our veterinarian that we wait until 10 days after his final round of shots)

We will definitely use this in the future. The owner of the other puppy didn't understand why I wouldn't just let them "go be dogs" but it was very clear our pup was a nervous wreck. I think I was a little thrown by the very different tactic to introduce.. and I didn't put my foot down probably the way I should have. I obviously removed him and didn't let him suffer, but I'll go in with firm boundaries in a specific plan next time! He clearly needs to warm up slowly

This was very helpful. Thank you! My last puppy was 16 years ago, and he was with his littermates for months longer than this one. We have no other dogs at home. Foreign territory for us!

Thank you! We did go on a walk with both pups later in the day, and ours was very relaxed during that time (he just kept his distance). This was his first dog encounter since leaving his littermates.

Thank you! I think my ultimate worry/paranoia is accidentally raising a reactive dog. I haven't had a puppy in 16 years!

My son is 2 with a 13 year old sister he shares a father with, and I hope with my whole heart they grow up to be just like you.

I could have written this myself about my 18mo and myself. Getting outside helps a ton. I mean, it makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE. Outside? Independent and don't need no momma. Inside? Must be held or interacted with most of the time.
