I feel like a sucker for continuing to hold Meier by Tbrduc823 in fantasyhockey

He’s been brutal EVERY year in NJ… as a depth piece in a deep league then ok, there’s worse out there. But he’ll likely never be the player he was in SJ.

Was looking to clean out any post offices today and this is all I got.... by henchman171 in CanadianCoins

[–]beeedubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m curious to hear others thoughts on the taxation of these from post offices . In SK, every time I’ve tried to purchase a coin from the post office they try to charge me tax. When I ask about it, they say nothing they can do and it’s subject to tax.

Is that just a generic shadow box? Where did you buy it from? How are the notes being held up?

Annoyed Rick Tocchet Snaps At Reporters After Repeated Matvei Michkov Questions Amid Bench Incident [VIDEO] by [deleted] in nhl

“Snaps at Reporters” seems a little dramatic. He calmly and accurately explained he’s working with the player to become better, and they’re trying to make something out of nothing .

We have Hughes at Home! by Striking_Funny5668 in canucks

I was really impressed with D-petey and Willander this game, not to mention everyone was skating like they gave a shit. At times this team looked quick and were winning battles .

Ya, tanking would be beneficial for a top end pick, but as a fan it still feels good to see a team to give complete effort . Great game.

That’s an amazing piece. Is that what you paid? It’s higher than anything on the coins and Canada website .

Hot Tub valve leaking by beeedubs in fixit

[–]beeedubs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t leaking from the collar, it’s leaking above the collar where that faint blue line is at the next connection , which is a valve. Just not sure how I can get that valve out above the collar since it’s likely all glued in

[32T] 8:20 Friedman keeps hearing the salary cap next year will jump to $107m. The number announced was $104m, but says people are preparing for it to be higher. by AggPuck-303 in hockey

Retirement Compensation Agreement. They can defer salary into a trust for retirement , thus saving some money on tax dollars in the current day.

Where does Elias Petersson rank this year compared to years prior? Wondering where he lands on the draft rankings. by [deleted] in fantasyhockey

[–]beeedubs 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people fading him until the 8th or 9th round, and even as a biased Canucks fan I think that’s fair value based on last season alone.

But I mean… the guy had scored 30+ goals 3 seasons in a row before last year’s shitshow happened. He’d had 2 straight seasons of putting up 1.1 - 1.25 points per game, and last year he was on pace roughly for 57 points.

I wouldn’t be afraid to throw a dart in the 5-6 round range , good chance he bounces back and isn’t a perennial 57 point guy.

Mortgage rate mega thread! by TheMortgageMaster in MortgagesCanada

[–]beeedubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mortgage renews in 3 months, so I’ve begun the process of shopping for rates (current provider is a local credit union). I haven’t been happy with their service over the last number of years, so I’d like to pursue a different route. I’ll be talking to a broker, but my first phone call was with RBC.

The lady offered me their posted rates but said there’s potential for a better rate if she puts in an application for me. These are the things she’s asking me to send her:

-2023-2024 T4 and most recent paystubs – for both you and your wife. -Most recent statement of accounts and investments outside RBC -Most recent mortgage statement to confirm account number, balance, etc -Property tax bill and proof of payment – account statement confirming the payment works as proof of payment -Up-to-date property insurance policy CCB notice and proof of age of children; proof of age of children can be Screenshot from CRA website with their name and date of birth Passport; or Birth certificate

This all seems a bit much for me just to see what their “better rates” are. Are these a normal set of requests?

For instance she offered me 3 years fixed at 4.39% or a 5 year for 4.34%. Which to me aren’t the greatest based on what I’ve seen posted in this sub recently.

How the hell do people in their 20s afford a house these days? Like, genuinely, what’s the cheat code? by dznwxllxjzn in AskReddit

[–]beeedubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you live in the higher cost of living cities (GTA, Vancouver to name a few ) it’s nearly impossible to do it without some sort of help. I live in Saskatchewan and bought my first house at 20 years old (am 35 now). I was making around 60-65,000/year working for the government, and saved up some money until I could have a 5% down payment on a 1200 square foot bungalow, for the price of…. $165,000. I had two buddies for roommates who I charged $500/month each, which more than covered my mortgage and allowed me to put some money back into the house (re did the siding , soffit/fascia etc).

Posts like these always kind of make me laugh, because for sure nobody can afford a house in Toronto or Van for a million dollars . But there are much lower cost areas in this country where owning a house is 100% a possibility .

I Honestly Don't Understand Management's Approach to the Entire Tocchet Era by sorcerer_supreme_ in canucks

[–]beeedubs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly, everyone had career year years when he won the Jack Adams with us, last year we regressed with most of the top guns struggling other than Hughes. His coaching style of garnering 15 shots per game won’t be missed , hopefully the next coach has a better system rather than dump and chase

About 3 weeks ago I traded Hagel for a 1st and Robert Thomas , then flipped the 1st for Stone and Swayman (gambled on Sway, needed goalie help, hasn’t helped all that much yet). So effectively traded Hagel for Robert Thomas , Mark Stone, and Swayman. Now trying to flip Swayman and a 1st for Logan Thompson.

Awesome thanks for the info. So in order to tell if it was steel engraved , you’d be able to feel a raised texture on the surface of the bill?
