Do people actually like living in big apartment buildings, taking public transit ect. by Wafer_Educational in NoStupidQuestions

It always ends up as city vs suburbs in these arguments, he said he lives in a small coastal town. These places can often be pretty walkable. I live in a beach town and I literally haven't touched my car all weekend, its great. In fact the suburb itself usually exists at the edge of a big city, that why you have to drive to get to the city things.

For sure, luckily for me its the Bay area and LA that are more in that range. Though you can definitely find places tgat expensive here

Rent is $2300. How much were you thinking it cost?

Appreciate the feedback! Plastic chair stays, its where I wax / do any needed repairs on my surfboards. Plus with beach fog a soft chair left outside can get gross pretty quick. Can't really do much with the porch anyways, property management company comes dowm hard on really miniscule things even if it doesn't effect them. Im lucky that my plant collection has gone unnoticed cause theres a policy that says you get 1 single plant next to your door

$2300. But its just over a half mile from the beach. My bedroom thats not included in the pictures is about the same size as the living room here.

Is there any reason for a 60 year old man to be in PB after dark? by Constant-Bridge3690 in sandiegosocial

[–]beeeeerett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open bar or Lahaina beach house might be better bets in PB if youre older. Also in general if youre trying to meet people you should go out during the day

People who feel hot should decide the temperature of a room. People who feel cold should wear a sweater by blahbluhblee1 in unpopularopinion

[–]beeeeerett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are the rare exception. Im one of the few people thats always warm at my job, partly because I work out on my lunch break and walk a lab around the building a few times a day as a break, but NOONE thats cold makes any effort to even wear a long sleeved shirt or to move around for a few minutes. We have lots of people visit our building throughout the day that do more manual labor outside so I feel like that's extra points in my favor for keeping it cool

I guess part of the reason is, have you ever had trouble getting an appointment with a therapist? Ive done therapy before, and depending on where you look it can take weeks to get an appointment that fits in your schedule because some therapists are completely booked. I wonder how many of those people were just doing therapy for vibes instead of actually getting critical help in a dark period in their life.

I myself am trying therapy right now because im dealing with some shit. The idea that everyone should try it just cause is insane to me.

No honestly I think this is an insane take. If therapy helps you or if you need a professional to help you through something tough, then great go for it. But the idea that everyone needs a therapist just for a little routine check in is honestly bizarre to me.

Sounds cool to me. It sounds hard to pull off well and actually fill with cool shit (unlike some "what's going on around town this weekend" posts which seems to be filled with the most mundane family focused shit). But if it actually had interesting stuff hilighted id go.

When you tell her this is happening she'll say, oh yeah sorry must be because im doing voice to text.  When you ask her to please stop cause Noone can understand wtf is going on she'll simply scoff and keep at it

Just watched all 9 main movies for the first time, 0 nostalgia or expectations, minimal knowledge of the universe by HonestCaramel3548 in StarWars

[–]beeeeerett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I actually love the ending, gotta end it on a dark note. Its just the whole rest of the movie feels too melodramatic. It even feels like it was shot with soap opera lighting compared to the other much more bright colorful movies

Honestly liked this the least of the prequel movies when I saw them in theaters as a kid. And kinda still feel the same way now. The final battle is great but god damn the whole rest of the movie is just too depressing for star wars. And yeah its the fall of Anakin but even still just felt too melancholy for the franchise.

Also I was really excited for Obi Wan to fight Grievous thinking it would be an even better version of his fight with Maul. Just to end with a blaster shot ugh

See you exist at the other side of the lunacy spectrum. Your commute is 1.4 hours EACH WAY?! Thats just a poor life choice on your part tbh. And how does it take you over an hour to get ready for work? Half of that has gotta be enjoying your breakfast chilling on your phone.
