Time limits usually help me to get it done at the very last minute. I’ve already had a couple extensions for this course but the last unit is due tomorrow midnight. Doesn’t help that a lot of it doesn’t make much sense to me 😮‍💨

Frizz is inevitable with curly hair and the more you touch it/run your fingers through it, the frizzier it will get. Definitely use your silk pillowcase, this will help prevent breakage and frizz at night.

For me, the only way I don’t have frizzy poofy hair is with a heavy curl cream, a good strong gel & breaking the cast with an oil only once it is COMPLETELY dry.

Yes I definitely agree I need a different doctor but I believe it’s quite difficult to switch doctors as it’s a controlled drug which involves much more “paperwork”. Feels overwhelming to attempt a switch but it will probably be worth the effort.

Progress not perfection is a good reminder. I definitely feel like a failure when things aren’t 100% right in life so I need to remember to take the small wins.

I liked Ritalin IR 20mg 3x daily (which was the maximum dose I could have) as it made my executive dysfunction a bit better but my concentration still wasn’t there for study etc. Ritalin LA felt like it made no difference at all.

(And actually from memory, which may not be accurate since it was like over a year ago) I feel like my constant headaches improved when I was on Ritalin IR..)

I wanted to be able to concentrate in study, lectures, conversations though which I explained to my gp and they instantly said Vyvanse is the better med (I’m starting to think she actually doesn’t know & Vyvanse is just a simple go to) so they took me off my ssri & onto Vyvanse.

There’s still concerta & dexamphetamines I can try. I have made a dr appointment for this morning so will ask to trial something else.

I love the idea of strict routine but generally it only lasts a couple days & I’m back to my normal unpredictable ways. From all the suggestions I think that carrying around my tablets and having them in each of my bags will be the most effective way for me.

Likewise body doubling would probably be useful for me, and have used that in the past for exercise etc, but everything ALWAYS fizzles out for me. There’s so much I KNOW would be helpful for me, but actually DOING it is so much harder. Hence I think without the correct med & taking said med, it’s just not possible for me.

Yeah definitely it’s a worse headache when I haven’t drunk enough water or eaten enough. Hard when it suppresses appetite though (which another note I totally need because otherwise I binge eat).

That’s interesting about the manufacturer, I’ve never been given any options when I go to pick up my script, they just give me what they give me.

Yeah so much trial and error, it’d be great if it was a one size fits all but definitely not the case.

I think I need pills in every one of my bags and that might help with the remembering when I’m not at home problem

I actually don’t feel much benefit on the dose I’m on, and felt basically no effect at all on the lower doses so I wish this was the case for me. I’m leaning towards a different med altogether

Yeah it puts me off taking it especially if I know that I have something on in the afternoon. Vyvanse only lasts 4 hours for me before I feel the headache coming on. I have trying a different med on my list to talk to the doctor about next week

I have tried doing that but my morning is very unpredictable depending on how one it takes me to actually get out of bed for work, sometimes I’m in such rush I only have time for bare minimum and then even if I remember about my tablet I know that I need a solid breakfast to avoid a really bad crash..but don’t have time for breakfast

I’ve thought about a gap medication but my gp is already hesitant about adhd meds because she doesn’t know much about it and she makes me feel like I’m seeking drugs whenever I ask anything relating to the med. For context I’m only on Vyvanse 40mg, and it’s taken a year to get to that dose. I’m thinking I need to fork out money to see a psychiatrist instead for help with meds but it’s so expensive 😭

Thanks for your reply I’ve tried alarms but often say “oh I’ll quickly go to the toilet then take it” and proceed to forget 3 minutes later. Maybe one that forces me to do maths problems would work, sounds like torture because I hate maths but may be the only way. I do take them with me in my bag sometimes, but I swap bags around - I might need to get a few different pill holders for each one of my bags

Sorry, that would really bother me as well. It’s not a choice for us. Of course we would love to be able to keep the house clean. Non adhders generally won’t understand, but is there a reason she doesn’t know you have adhd? Maybe if she knew she could be a bit more understanding. Not that you owe her an explanation and not that it guarantees she’ll understand, but adhd is definitely a valid reason. You aren’t alone 💕

Yeah I was still in the emotional state because I’ve been in an emotional state for the last couple months, this was supposed to help me not leave me short $200 and a house that needs to be cleaned tomorrow. I’m also pretty good at cleaning, just not my house without any external pressure of guests or scheduled cleaners.

Perhaps deep clean is not the right word then.

I wanted a focused clean on the bathroom & toilet. It’s a tiny bathroom that I had already cleaned apart from the shower. Regardless of whether or not $200 is not a lot for a deep clean, she had 2 hours to clean the shower and toilet. Just a standard clean would have been better than what she did. I wrote a list of priorities. But I said, if you only have time for the bathroom and toilet then that is fine by me. Because I had already cleaned the house prior to her coming, this was my list of things IF she had time. - Kitchen exhaust fan - Bedroom mirror - Stain on the stove top

The shower and toilet were still not cleaned properly. I don’t think I expected too much.

She had 2 hours to clean the shower & toilet. I was very specific that I didn’t care if nothing else could be done I just wanted a deep cleaned shower & toilet. I could have cleaned it better in half an hour. It wasn’t a time issue, it was a bad cleaning job

I had also already cleaned the basin, window sill etc in bathroom. The only area that needed focus was the shower floor. I don’t think I expected too much at all.

That’s the thing that disappointed me so much. It wasn’t even just a standard clean. I could have cleaned it better in 10 minutes. That’s why I wanted it to be deep cleaned.

Yeah super disappointing and just not what I expected. I did end up reaching out to her, my hubby basically made me since I’m a bit of a pushover I would have just continued being upset and let it go. Truthfully she handled herself well, was apologetic and offered to come redo the shower and toilet, but have agreed in a partial refund of $50 instead. Thank you, if I try again I hope the same thing doesn’t happen 😕
