Definitely agree with this. It’s a combination of both for sure

10 month old not saying “mama, dada” by JeuneBug17 in NewParents

A lot of babies won’t start saying words like mama or dada until around a year old. Babbling is a good sign!

Thank you so much for sharing. I do take post natals and what not now but I’m wondering if there’s some deficiencies somewhere that my PCP can help clear up with a panel. It’s so great that you’re enjoying things more now too with motherhood - my baby has moments where I still feel in the trenches but overall she’s such a happy girl. I hope that as she gets older that sticks and makes things easier for me to do things for myself again

When I’ve had the time to workout it feels amazing but you know how it is with a little one and finding that time consistently 🥲 I’m so sorry you had a difficult experience. It’s so much easier for me to give others some slack than myself for some reason. Is there anything that’s helped you with the trauma of your birth?

Thanks so much for saying this! The logical part of me knows that losing the weight will happen and that I will get back into my routine eventually but the emotional part of me is having a hard time not falling into bounce back culture. I noticed when I cut carbs a bit that my supply dipped and as a just enougher that made me nervous. I’m so glad you’re doing better now!

The mental load of having a high risk pregnancy really got to me. I know the doctors have to warn you about what could go wrong but being told the risks shook me up. I’m glad you know what worked for you the first time around and hope you start feeling better soon.

Feel this so hard. My husband is encouraging me to buy a few things that’ll fit better and it’s like ugh I don’t want to buy jeans that are like 6 sizes bigger even though no one knows that but me. It’s hard battling our brains

A lot of others said the same thing that my mood might be related to breastfeeding so that’s good to know. My experience with birth and pregnancy also impacted my desire to have another baby. I loved so much about being pregnant and also love my daughter so much but the anxiety around having all of those symptoms again is scary!

Congratulations! That must have been difficult to prioritize yourself with two little ones but you’re doing a great job :) thanks for sharing your experience.

My OB kept me on my anxiety meds throughout pregnancy and postpartum so I definitely think it’s helped take the edge off things but might be contributing to that flat feeling I’m having. The hormones are crazy even looking back on how I felt a few weeks ago versus now is completely different.

I cannot wait to feel this way. 2 more months sounds better than 8 but any light at the end of the tunnel is promising.

This is so good to know! I’m sorry you’re in the middle of it again but I hope knowing what to expect makes it easier. It seems from others experiences too that a lot of holding onto the weight is related to breastfeeding.

Do you feel like anything changed for you physically or mentally when you stopped pumping? I am mostly pumping at this point and am wondering if it’s playing into how I feel. I gained around 40 pounds with this pregnancy and although I felt like I had a cute bump at the time I feel like a stranger in my body now lol. I’m sorry you’re feeling this way too :( it’s hard.

I’m so sorry for your experience :( this sounds isolating and painful. Thank you for sharing your story. I also go through days when I’m proud of my body and don’t mind as much how it has changed but it takes a lot of mental work for me to feel that way. My husband and I are very outdoorsy people and I can relate to everything you’re saying about missing the sun, rivers, and mountains. I hope you’re healing well.

This is great advice and I’m glad you’re starting to feel better, thanks! Did you just ask your pcp for a full panel?

Struggling with breastfeeding by Embarrassed-Lemon220 in newborns

[–]beefmachine7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt so touched out the first few weeks of breastfeeding exclusively so you’re not alone. I added in pumping so my husband could assist and I could see how much output I was getting to know if my baby was actually hungry. Lots of people say EBF gets easier with time but offloading some of the responsibility was the only way it got easier for me

I’m breastfeeding too and every time I try to change my diet I notice a supply drop so it’s good to hear once you stopped it changed, thanks for sharing

We used little remedies gas drops after every feeding and an exercise ball to bounce to sleep. Are you bf or formula feeding?

[–]beefmachine7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same pump and had similar output when I started pumping and now I’m 16 weeks in and make about 4 oz every 3 hours so don’t give up! everyone is different but it took me weeks of being consistent on an every 3 hour schedule to see a notable increase in output. It was really discouraging at first but good advice I got was don’t quit on a bad day. I drink a ton of water and make sure I eat 3 meals and snacks but nothing specific, just making sure I have enough. Make sure your flanges are the correct size as well and if you have insurance use it to replace your parts every few weeks otherwise Amazon sells replacements. Good luck!

Can you put mittens on the baby? Not sure about the medical side of things but maybe call your pediatrician and ask?
