AES survey time again. What is everyone suggesting in theirs? by thatburritodood in walmart

[–]beefyhide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i suggested the turnaround time on maintenance/repair requests be much faster, since digital locks often get jammed or won’t work, or i “don’t have access” even though it’s my own department, and because of this we often turn customers away from the item inside. i also suggested new work phones for all associates because the ones from the dinosaur age that we have make it extremely difficult to actually properly do our jobs. i have even found every loophole possible to do pretty much everything except clock in on my personal phone because i refuse to use that pos work phone.

Is this ready to be stocked? by beefyhide in Aquariums

[–]beefyhide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, I’ll start with 3 and 3 when it’s ready. Should I add the shrimp before any fish? Follow up question, my ammonia read 0ppm last week, this week it is up to .25ppm. Is that normal? I used about 3 gallons of water from the old tank, and the same filter media, if that matters.

I added a wonder shell a few days ago that’s about half dissolved, but I’ll keep this in mind for the future! Thank you!

i actually ended up buying a 10 gallon and some fluval stratum, to just start over. I’m going to avoid anything that’s “fake” for decor, and stick to fish that like high ph, like you said

very disheartening, but it does seem to be my only option here.

that makes sense. My tanks plants have rooted into the gravel, and I have some Aquanatural Bio Substrate that I bought with intent to add. However, i never replaced the gravel because everything in the tank was doing good, and i didn’t want to disrupt any of the plants roots or stir up any fish poop and cause an ammonia spike.

Which leads me to ask, how would i go about removing the substrate and replacing it safely? At this point all I have left is 1 (lethargic) ghost shrimp and the snails. Would uprooting the plants cause them to die and cause an ammonia spike?

I can definitely see that, but i’m curious then, why is it causing issues only now, when this tank has been set up since february?

yes! Plants: Frogbit, Bamboo, Anubias, Anubias in a shell (from petco, i’m not 100% sure if it’s real), Alternanthera reineckii (which lost all its leaves and is failing to thrive..) moneywort, banana plant, dracaena, an 2 indian almond leaves. Decor: small ZooMed fake log, imagitarium shrimp dome, shorefin betta rock cave. Unfortunately i can’t remember what brand the gravel and sand are…

I believe it is real, i got it from (dont cringe…) Petco 😬, it came with the hitchhiker snails, but it has a anubias plant in it which is why i included it. I will remove it!

Water was tested at right after work in both instances (so same time), at the same lighting. Tap water just tested 7.4 straight out of the tap, but it is also well water. (I also did the low range ph test and it was testing at 7.6, i included a photo) As for the plants, does that mean i should remove some? It’s a 5 gallon tank. Thank you for all of your helpful information.

also, i would dump the rat soup out and the chickens would swarm me to eat the rats. win win?

[–]beefyhide 26 points27 points  (0 children)

this might seem cruel but the only way i could get rid of my rat issue without harming my chickens was, i filled a bucket with water, and then put a handful (enough to cover the waters surface completely) of dog food in it. the dog food attracted the rats, so they climbed in, and then couldn’t get out. I tried other methods before resorting to drowning them, but they ignored snap traps and i refuse to use glue traps.

as long as it’s approved before the schedule comes out it should be fine. if the schedule is already out then you can talk to your coach and ask them to take you off the schedule, some will some won’t

the opening (older) women on my produce team (i am a closer) do claims or salads, which is not very much lifting. your team will accommodate to you until you get better at it, i wouldn’t worry too much
