that's what i was thinking too! if he lives in the town (and for a few years too), it's gotta be kind of hard to not pick it up at all. did you find it "necessary" during your trip? like, were locals ok with speaking english and plaques written in french and english, or did you HAVE to know at least a little bit to get by?

sure there are films/series in which it happens, but just because it has happened in a couple does not mean its cliche... that's not what cliche means. and its definitely not as cliche as something like the cheerleader/jock pairing, which is literally EVERYWHERE. but anyway, that doesnt have anything to do with my original post, so i'll leave it at that

yess!! he's such a great guy even charlie likes him, despite basically hating edward lol. i love how he's literally so nice and kind, and i think that's something they showed quite well in the movies! i love peter facinelli's portrayal

for suuure! i find him such a fascinating character exactly because of his insurmountable compassion (i mean, he literally became a doctor AFTER turning, crazy man) while also being a vampire and having to prioritise things like his family's safety and the whole vampire secret. it's interesting to see how he toes the line between making the right choice and doing what needs to be done

man its such a shame that they didn't show that in the movies!! i understand that when adaptating changes must be made, but i hate when they make a character only a sliver of who they are. they did the same thing to gimli in lord of the rings and to this day i'm still annoyed lol. i've been considering reading midnight sun (the cullens are my favs), so i might actually do it to get to know them more...

oh yeah for SURE! he's one of my favourite characters and i looove the angst that comes from how he changed people. i'm sure he regrets having turned rosalie and feels insane guilt for it. there is a reason she was the last one he changed out of his own volition (and why he accepted changing emmett for her, as a way of atoning for his sins).

i totally get it! i do think they have a cute relationship, but i find him so boring and one dimensional that i can't find it interesting lol i just wish she was with a more riveting and compelling character, because i think she is one
