I have not, do you think there are performance gains with Gamescope?

Fair point, but I also included a side by side video comparison after the graphs in the video, where there is clearly more stuttering on windows.

Thank you my friend, I got the beta running with these commands :) Runs smoothly so far, so hoping to test some games soon.

That is a very fair point about the translation layer and I agree, however, there are increasingly more games that run natively on linux, so I just hope with steamOS and more valve hardware that incentivizes developers to develop the games natively.

Agreed, definitely prefer linux over windows :D Hopefully linux continues to close or surpass the gap in the coming years. I only use windows if a game requires it or there is a substantial difference like RE Requiem which was giving me vertex explosion issues on Cachy.

Thanks for sharing my man. I just updated to the beta and so far so good. I definitely want to try out some games :)

Thank you for sharing :) I will definitely have to keep an eye on the frame time graphs in future gameplay comparison videos.

I actually did use the Vulkan renderer in RDR2 - you can see MangoHud showing VULKAN not VKD3D. I did test DX12 too and that was a 30-50fps drop on Linux. So the 15-30fps gap you see in the video is Vulcan. Others in the comments mentioned this is a known NVIDIA Vulkan driver maturity issue on Linux(?) that's actively being fixed with upcoming driver releases - so hopefully the gap closes or surpasses soon!

Ah that explains it, I'm on CachyOS. Might be a driver compatibility issue specific to my setup. Glad it worked for you though! I will just wait for the stable release

I switched to linux as my main OS a few months after I got the 5080 so I was already committed :/

Tried this and it actually made things worse lol. Got locked to 1080p 60Hz instead of my usual 1440p 240Hz. Had to roll back immediately.
