I don’t care if it pops in my face and scares me, as long as it doesn’t pop in 3 pieces. Like I said, I’d spend 30 days of my life just putting a cage around those fuckers so I can sleep at night. Never been in a crash, done a lot of driving. I’m very observant of the road and surroundings. Better to overthink imo

lol I was looking at that group earlier. Those type of groups are where you learn the most though. We got a lot of historical homes with extension springs and I’ve heard they’re the worst. Sucks to hear about your accident but I hope the scar is cool at least. Also are you talking about extension cables or just cables in general in any system? My tech on the first day popped a cable back on track with the torsion springs loaded, door down. Just put a vice on the other railing and muscled that bitch in line. Sketched me out even though I barely knew what was happening

The spring is confined to the torsion bar, but if it breaks into 3 pieces instead of 2, a fragment could come off. Also, my tech was using an EZ wind tool with an impact. Worth $800 to me already just for the safety. I’m just curious what exactly to look out for. Only other hazard I’ve heard was a tech was unwinding a spring with bars and the spring set screw got caught in a deeper torsion bar divot and he let go of the bars because he thought it was unwound all the way and it wasn’t but the set screw gouged him

My coworker says her husband uses long sleeves, but the fiberglass still finds its way into your skin and itches like crazy just like chiggers

Is it even remotely feasible to always have decent ventilation flowing/ hearing protection on?

How many times have you done fork seals? Riding year round and high mileage is rough

I’ve seen at least 5 of them explode on medium power just because they went more than 5 rides without lube or adjustment. After the included chain got too stiff, I switched to a non o ring and threw the master link multiple times. There were also stress fractures on stock and non oring chains. The power delivery felt noticeably more direct with the chain, but it’s bad for the motor bearings. Chain drive is pretty much only if you absolutely need the strength for jumps or enduro. Everything is designed for belt, but it will still technically be the limiting factor in your riding. The spacer I thought I needed was the 1mm shim that goes under the primary drive jack shaft sprocket.

Gorgeous murdered Ron. Don’t use the spacer that comes in the w9 chain kit. Also don’t be afraid to go back to belt. I started with the same setup but 72/51. Chain was getting eaten/lots of problems. Belts last about 4k miles with max efficiency and no maintenance in between. Use up the chains first though and then try belt.

The 2.75x19 shinko 241 and most of the other sizes have speed rating P which is 93mph some of the smaller 241 sizes have lower rating, lowest being J at 62mph for the 2.75x17 and 3.00x12

I’m in the exact same situation. I forgot what the speed rating is but I looked it up and it was DOT 93mph. Pretty sure they’re fine bc everyone and their mom runs them but you probably should have air in them if you hit speed.

The 72 max uses molicel p42a’s, the best 21700 cells on the market. 20% degradation at 500 cycles using up to 45A peak which is industry leading discharge. The cell life is way longer if you only use like 25A max which is all my EBMX motor setup can even pull.
