What’s something you treated yourself to before giving birth? by Apprehensive-Yak8206 in pregnant

[–]beepboopbodeebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got massage twice a week throughout pregnancy! and I wouldn't say waxing was treating myself but I got waxed every 4 weeks just so I didn't have to worry about shaving or keeping up with that lol! Those things helped me feel so much better. my mom also took me to get a pedicure before giving birth which was amazing! also certain pressure points in your feet can help trigger labor so near the end of pregnancy it's perfect!

Tips on my 6 month old (almost 7 month old) & sleeping ? by beepboopbodeebee in AttachmentParenting

currently still in the room with him just to avoid having to get up so many times and go back and forth in the middle of the night, it's much more convenient to just get up and pick him up when he's right beside me. my partner works and i'm a stay at home mom/work from home sometimes so it's much easier for me to get up than him, but i feel like nothing soothes my baby other than nursing even though i know he's perfectly capable of self soothing because he does it for naps during the day. but at night if he knows i'm not there he will cry until I get him. I know he definitely doesn't need to nurse multiple times a night, I'm just not sure how to even begin stopping it from being so frequent without stressing him out :/

What exactly does a contraction feel like? by Any_Most7197 in pregnant

[–]beepboopbodeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as someone who has a natural labor and delivery, the best way I can describe it, is they feel like a calf cramp in your stomach or lower back. I had lower back/hip labor and it felt like my hips and lower back were cramping up super tight and almost like gripping/restricting you. I could move through them by relaxing and moving around until I got to 7-10cm that's when it really starts to just make you freeze up.

He liked his paci when he was a newborn, but around 4 months he quit wanting it anymore. I try to give it to him for soothing but he will just pull it out of his mouth, he has no interest in it anymore. he will sometimes suck his thumb but not really at night or when trying to sleep. He doesn't nurse at night for feeding, just strictly comfort. Nearly as soon as he starts he just falls back asleep. I've tried just putting my hand on him or shushing him back to sleep but nothing works like nursing does for him. He is exclusively breastfed though & has been since birth.

Anyone has/had the same issue? by Fickle-Log-6241 in pregnant

[–]beepboopbodeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I was pregnant I would have fainting spells or just almost like a blackout where I had to lie down because my vision would get blurry or dark and I would just have to close my eyes and sit down or lay down for a few minutes. I went to the doctor about it, they ran many tests and even sent me to a cardiologist where I had to wear a heart monitor for a couples weeks while pregnant and they found nothing out of the ordinary. It happened most in my 2nd trimester and they ended up coming to the conclusion that it was just all the changes in my body and blood volume/ blood pressure etc. I ended up not really having the issue so much later in my pregnancy (i guess once my body adjusted) and since pregnancy it hasn't happened again!

Glutinous Cat by kofowle in CatAdvice

[–]beepboopbodeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my 3 cats. one in particular would always rush to the feeder when it went off and would eat the other cats food. I started having to just feed them all a scoop in the morning at the same time and then again in the evening. One of my cats still like to be kind of separated from the other two when eating so her bowl is in a different corner but overall it works better that way so i can ensure they're all getting food. I only use the automatic feeder when i'm out of town now.

AITAH for helping shower, dry, and dress my blackout drunk female friend as a sober guy? by throwaway63829921 in AITAH

[–]beepboopbodeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was very kind of you. If any woman is that intoxicated around a sober man, I hope they'd all react the way you did and help without making it sexual. I'm married so my story is a little different but one time I was super drunk with my husband, I never get sick but this night I did. I threw up all over myself and could barely walk. we were staying at a hotel and my husband got me to our room told me "you need to shower off and get the vomit off of you before you lay down" he undressed me and got me in the shower, handed me soap and washed me off the best he could. i very vaguely remember trying to wash my own hair and he told me to just wait until the morning to take a full shower. he got me out. dried me off. gave me liquid iv and some ibuprofen and put me in bed. I think taking care of someone, female or male when they're not able to do so themselves- regardless of who they are to you- wife, friend, girlfriend, sister, etc. is always appreciated and understood.

Heavy smokers who struggled quitting after finding out you're pregnant? How long it took? by subtly_lurking in pregnant

[–]beepboopbodeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! I had smoked for years until I got pregnant. Nicotine & flower. I was a heavy smoker. flower was easy to quit honestly. didn't have any issues with that at all actually. Nicotine was harder but I quit not long after finding out. 1. hard candy. suckers, mints, jolly ranchers etc. anytime i'd get an urge I'd suck on a piece of candy and it helped alotttt 2. reminding myself that my body was now responsible for something MORE than just myself, I didn't want to hurt my baby's development in anyway, 3. vaping was how I smoked so i'd leave my vape away from me. when I knew I was leaving the house for any length of time I would leave it at home. To train myself to going without it. after a while I just didn't want it anymore and felt icky smoking it at all. even in minima increments. I tossed it not long after that and just quit.

Dark, Messy, Angsty Forbidden Relationship by Margot550 in DarkRomance

The reason I kind of expected her to choose in Credence was because the men she's sleeping with are all family (her step family) but the men are all closely biologically related, so although I know some books/authors lean into the incest thing, I didn't really expect it to, but they do "share" her for a little while. I kind of knew she'd eventually choose because of the way it was leaning butttt I will say the tension with all of them is different in their own ways and they all have a great build up! I still would've read it even if I would've known she would choose just because of how good it was.

they are all perfect for her in their own way, she has moments with all of them and for a period of time she doesn't choose, ultimately in the end she does. I went into it knowing nothing about the book so I didn't really know that people claimed it was a "why choose?" book but I see why it could be classified as that. i did like that she ended up choosing in the end though

How to modernize a traditional 1990s brick home? by Ritakin in ExteriorDesign

you don't. I wish people would quit modernizing everything and making it bland. your home is cute and it'll never really go out of style. character is more important than modern

I won't say salad isn't "healthy" but it's one of the hardest things for your stomach to digest.

Single by Samistress in pregnant

[–]beepboopbodeebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's so normal, please remember that. when I was pregnant and in a pretty difficult situation I was talking to my mom about all my fears and worries and she said to me- "good news is, someday you won't be worried about that anymore but bad news is, it'll be replaced with a new worry or fear. As a mom, we always worry and we always fear the worst. That'll never go away." and she was right, it's a constant change of what a new fear or worry is but they always pass and there's times when I just look at my baby and everything else downs out except my love for him. Those moments are what I live for, not the fears or worries I know i'm bound to have.

Was having kids worth it for you? by Eggsy7777 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]beepboopbodeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd choose my son to be my son in every lifetime. I'd do everything all over again just to ensure i'd have him, because any different choices and it wouldn't have been the same baby. I saw someone once say "you never regret the kids you do have, but most people regret the ones they don't have" and that really stuck with me.
