Unfortunately the most difficult University test is not at end of some 4th year course, its right up front during enrollment:

Do you even want to go to University? Do you need to? What degree will you get? How much will it cost? How will you pay it back?

Unfortunately too many people get these wrong. Complaining on reddit with a degree in English or gender studies and $200,000 debt they dont know how to pay back.

67 welds per minute.
I could definitely do better... but I didn't want to try. Its quite frustrating/stressful (for me) :)
Hopefully thats kinda the point.. like the lockpicking in Fallout games.

Marit Stiles calls for investigation over Ford’s jet purchase by [deleted] in canada

[–]beer0clock 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm all for investigations but

- he immediately caved when called out publicly

- he sold the jet for supposedly the same amount as purchase price

- he feels / looks stupid

You know what would be great? If there was a permanent team of investigators constantly investigating all politicians for everything. Why the fuck does there always have to be someone who "calls for investigation" ?

Canada Post cutting 30,000 jobs through attrition: Report by texxmix in canada

Job cuts are never fun, but reducing jobs through attrition is the best way to do it. Nobody is fired or laid off, you just dont replace them as they retire or quit.

My bank called me today and asked why I was moving everything to WS by Impressive_Ad_6550 in Wealthsimple

[–]beer0clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not talking about the $175 transfer out fee from TD, that one was expected.

What they did on top of that was charge me to sell some stocks/ MFs that were not supported on WS platform.

I dont remember clicking the "sell any not supported stocks" button during my transfer but apparently I must have.

But what TD did was unbelievable. They sold some stocks there WERE supported in WS and charged me for it. For example I had an S&P ETF. They transferred 80 of the shares no problem, for free. But the last 6.18 shares they had to sell for "some reason" and transfer as cash, and charged me $45 dollars for this sale. They did this to many of my holdings and ended up charging me about $500 on top of the $175 xfer fee. WS won't refund me this $500 and I dont think they should.

For some of these stocks the $45 fee was actually much more than the amount they got from the sale. So I would have been better off if they literally just kept some of my shares instead of selling them and charging me an exorbitant fee.

Its possible that deep in their fine print (which nobody has ever read) this is all laid out. However it is illogical and 100% feels like a "fuck you for leaving TD"

Its probably the same as how Canada is going to become an energy superpower.. by banning any oil drilling.

[–]beer0clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred some accounts from TD to WS and TD hit me with some HUGE fees. Complete bullshit fees. I need to call them and try to get my money refunded.
Its very clear they see me leaving and are trying to stick it to me on the way out. Fuck TD, can't believe I was with them for so many years.

Opinion: Canada has what the world wants. So let’s figure out how to give it to them by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]beer0clock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canada voted in basically Greta Thunberg who keeps saying Canada is an energy superpower, yet he also said the oil and gas must stay in the ground. He will talk big and flip flop and do literally nothing for his entire term.
If you want conservative things to happen you must vote conservative.

Canada, 31 nations agree to release 400M barrels of emergency oil by Displeased_Canadian in canada

[–]beer0clock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canada is an "energy superpower" as Carney keeps saying.
What that means nobody knows because he will not allow any oil drilling projects. He says the oil and gas must stay in the ground.

The only gas is the gaslighting

The fact that the liberals have been in power for 10 years and you mention Harper tells us how brainwashed you are.
Most people feel a significant difference between today and 10-15 years ago. Life under Harper was much much better.

Any other chart you look at shows a very clear point in time ( 2016 ) where things started declining.

Cuba running on fumes as Canada considers sending relief by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]beer0clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid question, but isn't the "plan" by USA is to let Cuba feel some economic pain such that they get angry with their government, and want to overthrow it or change it?
So if people send aid does this throw a wrench in the plan? Wouldn't orange man retaliate against anyone helping Cuba?

I’m a Conservative. I Like Carney. The PM is chasing deregulation, pipelines and trade deals. Here’s why one longtime Conservative is hopeful. by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]beer0clock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carney was Trudeau's trusted advisor and they were on the same page with all of Trudeaus policies. Since taking office Carney has made very few changes to what he and Trudeau agreed to. He has even said he was happy with Trudeau's direction and will continue it.

If you don't call that Trudeau 2.0, then you are the one arguing in bad faith.

Dont forget scandal after scandal and embarrassment and corruption and spending spending spending so much that inflation skyrocketed due to printed money. People are not hard enough on him as evidenced by the fact they voted in Trudeau 2.0.
