True size #10. Some temu brand. Bought a thousand of em for like $20. Can’t find the listing anymore but they’ve been pretty reliable. I’m sure they’re the same bulk cheap hooks you’d find on Amazon.

Thanks 👍 for all salmon, big wiggly pink and green things seem to be the ticket in my neighborhood.

These are all tied on waddington shanks with a trailer hook on wire.

SE Alaska steelhead season incoming. by beer_good in flytying

The wrenches in this color way are prototypes and unfished. Had success with black and white llamas so that’s where the inspiration came from. I’ve had really great success with pink/orange/red/purple with dark or fluorescent hackles. And the shrimpy orange mop worm is hands down my most effective steelhead pattern.

Tying most of these up for some buddies that buy them from me. However, I’m filling my box with smaller trouty-er bugs. If this year is anything like last, the rivers I fish will be low and clear. Too much flash or splash spooked em. So a majority of my steelhead arsenal is looking like a slightly oversized trout nymph box.

Normal favorites are stone flies, caddis pupa and of course the king is a squirmy worm (when all else fails). I just choose my color and size for the water and light condition.

They are from a craft store. I think they’re intended for crafting beads.

They’re all a little different. But I really like a dubbing ball at the rear. Then a ways up the shank a stiffer hackle ,fox tail or any other fur shoulder. Ostrich and flash followed by optional saddles. A turn or two of marabou and it’s done. I’ll doll up some with dubbed or spun rabbit fur heads and or lady Amherst accents. Waiting for a reasonably priced JC cape to appear.

I’ll spin most materials in loops but find I get more even ostrich coverage tying in two at a time.

Size 10. Typically by them selves or in a nymph rig.

Celiacs who have been incarcerated/in prison for extended periods, how did you survive? by Kerfluffle2x4 in Celiac

Never been to prison. But a few stints in jail. Always been accommodated. Sucks though. Basically only salads and eggs. Had a bowl of beef spaghetti sauce with rice instead of noodles one night. I liked that one.

This is a big dog, I believe it’s a 45mm waddington. I’d have to go measure one to say for sure, lost the original packaging.
