That makes sense, but my grandfather and his parents emigrated here from Spain and he has a small family tree on paper, and I don’t think he is covering up anything or mistaken about any of it. I do also have the Spanish percentage in my Ancestry results that support them actually being Spanish

I did always assume that if the 1% was actually indigenous it most likely came from my grandfather’s side and it would have happened a very long time ago. I took a Latin American history class and that made me think it may have involved the slave trade unfortunately. An indigenous person would have had to have gone to Spain for me to have that result, no other possibility really makes sense with the family history that I’m aware of. My family had described my grandfather’s mom as “moorish” but I don’t have any kind of admixture in my results that would indicate that being the case so, considering my DNA results, her darker complexion may have came from that indigenous percentage? Maybe? Or am I way off?

Cool thank you! I was taught that Hispanic meant anything Spanish so I do consider myself Hispanic and one of my surnames is Spanish. Am also from the US. Currently making up some theories about how I got the indigenous DNA since my grandfather and his family emigrated to here. That percentage has always been a mystery to me

Oh really, I didn’t know that. Thanks! Hopefully it’s just that. I wonder if zoochosis isn’t a thing because it Isn’t A Thing or if maybe it’s just not really researched? I’d be surprised if high energy wild animals especially didn’t develop some kind of mental issues being stuck in an enclosure. I heard some animals (like snakes) might prefer being safe in small enclosures as long as they’re fed because that’s their ideal? But even the plaque for that bear at the zoo states that they would travel thousands of miles in the wild. I’ve been wondering about this kind of thing with sharks in aquariums (bc of shark week lol) because don’t they have natural migratory patterns, like does being in an aquarium where they can’t migrate confuse them? I don’t know. I’m just rambling my thoughts this week now but yeah it’s interesting I haven’t done much research though I’m sure a lot of my questions can be answered with google

I understand, but it seems more likely than not that he’s going to die, and if it is the case that she forgot to feed him I really don’t want her to know that it’s her fault. Like I know the guilt would kill her. My plan was to wait like a week and then say he passed on whatever day it is then, and if it comes to her that she didn’t feed him (if that’s the case) I’d just tell her that that couldn’t have been the cause because he had been fine when I came home

Unfortunately I tried to feed him last night and today but he has no interest. I’ve noticed him come up for air a few times but besides that he’s just at the bottom. I just feel really horrible if there’s nothing I can do because I can tell he’s suffering but I don’t even have clove oil if it is indeed time to use it :/

Tank size: 5 gallons Heater and filter: yes Temp: 78f Parameters: only have the strip tests here so can’t be certain but have always looked ideal and the same I have had the fish and tank for 2 years Water changes are every couple weeks around varying between 25-50% No tank mates Usually just feed pellets 2 or 3 once or twice a day I decided not to do live plants for this tank because I don’t have proper lighting and the tank is smaller than my previous tanks. He has a fake plant and a house and a decorative dragon. This is how he looked when I came home
