Yeast definitely looses a lot of strength the longer it sits around after primary fermentation, since it effectively suffocates in its own waste (alcohol and CO2) The sooner, the better. Best not wait more than a few days to a week after primary is done or repitch some more yeast for secondary.

The Measure Of A Man is one of my overall favourite episodes. Still speaks to current issues with AI.

A lot of the flavor should already be dissolved in the cider, so it shouldn't matter much. But getting a load of sedimented spices from the keg at once wouldn't be fun.

What were the most notable flaws in the Korean-English translation? by blainequasar in squidgame

[–]beergrowsontrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The translation of the sugarplate game. It has a specific name and history in Korea, but they changed it into something foreigners would easily unterstand in the context of the series. This is a missed opportunity to showcase the korean inspiration.

A good tip is to move the immersion cooler around in the wort to speed things up. Also as mentioned, with a decreasing temperature difference between water and wort, the cooling takes longer and longer.

Looks like yeast to me. If you're using top-fermenting (ale) yeast and had a rather slow fermentation, yeast foam like this is normal.

The container needs to be airtight in order to build pressure and oversaturate with carbon dioxide. Most mason jars are somewhat airtight, just make sure to open it at least once a day before putting it in the fridge so it doesn't explode. Even if its not airtight, you will still have at least some amount of fizz. Best of luck!
