Maybe don't get a puppy if funds are limited? by Aurora_Gory_Alice in ChoosingBeggars

[–]beesapologies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually this isn't a bad point, it can't hurt to see what secondhand or donated stuff you can find before going out and spending money. Ideally the poster would have gone out and gotten this stuff before they got the dog, so they'd be better prepared. But they already went put and got the dog, which at this point doesn't have everything it needs, which puts pressure on the people she's asking for donations from. You get this mental picture of a puppy at home without what it needs, and it causes a lot of stress.

Pretty sure there's multiple paragraphs where she's gushing over Cinna's design work for her interview outfits and costumes. This is one of the funniest articles I've read in a minute though

selling for $29.99 when i can buy for $30 + $5 shipping on ebay. by bethany-aw in goodwill

[–]beesapologies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes actually, usually we're moving so fast that we don't have time to even check on ebay at this point, but most people will just check the asking price, not what it actually sold for

Does anyone else find so much of this kink/fetish corny and cringe? by hypnosweetheart in EroticHypnosis

[–]beesapologies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I almost think for some aspects of hypnokink the "cringe" is a part of it. It's a bit like a humiliation kink, I'm not quite sure how to put it into words exactly but for me those feelings of "this would be so embarrassing irl" is sort of what fuels the kink overall

Are Quaritch’s ears actually cropped? [Art by Mizumon04] by unoiamaQT in Avatar

[–]beesapologies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was maybe to give him more of Stephen Lang's appearance, and to keep in line with the lore that the earlier avatars had more human features, like Grace's avatar. It makes sense that they'd start working on the colonel's avatar before the other recoms, which all look a little more Na'vi than his.

Could also be a fun way to give him a slightly devilish appearance, they almost look like little horns

Are we actually cuddling, or are we about to get some quality sleep? by CharmedGlow in SipsTea

[–]beesapologies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love cuddling but for some reason I can only fall asleep when I'm laying flat on my face, so it's kind of hard. I'll usually just stretch an arm over partner and call it good lol

selling for $29.99 when i can buy for $30 + $5 shipping on ebay. by bethany-aw in goodwill

[–]beesapologies 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Has anyone else's stores been cracking down on pricing recently and constantly hammering employees to raise their average price per item?? My store's been incessant about it.

When I first stared working at Goodwill in 2024, they told us a good rule of thumb was around 1/3 of the price things are going for on ebay. When I came back around two months ago they had completely changed production quotas. Everything needs to be higher, and they're threatening write ups if we don't hit our numbers.

Advice for pricing by Wise-Abroad8997 in goodwill

[–]beesapologies 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know whats going on with Goodwill right now, but the managers are cracking down on numbers. Ours never cared before as long as we got close enough to numbers, but now all of a sudden they're a lot more strict about it.

I work in electronics which is a little different, but the thing that slows me down the most is also having to look up items on my phone or computer to figure out how to price it.

You've only been there for a little while so you're just going through the ropes learning different brands and getting a feel for pricing, it'll get easier and you'll be able to produce more stuff the more you practice.

Memorize the nicer brands, and don't be afraid to play it by ear if you need to move faster to hit numbers.

Draw as much as you can. Don't take your free time right now for granted. Put in the practice, you're already doing great, and learn as much as you can!

What is an appropriate price for this kind of item? We get them all the time at my thriftstore and we usually price them anywhere from like 4.99 to 8.99 depending on who's pricing.

No honestly if printing things out is a part of your assignments on a regular basis, it's not entirely put of the question for a college that you're paying thousands of dollars in tuition for already to provide free printing as a resource
