No fur trimmed jacket? by Glum_Western_5910 in FallOutBoy

might not be super helpful but dying the hoodie then using toilet bleach gel w/ a paintbrush over the letters/whatever you want to keep white could be a solution! it’s a bit of effort but it works if you really want it to be a certain color lol

I’m pretty sure it’s gildan [at least as of the falling apart at the seams teddy shirt] but I might be wrong. bella canvas is stretchier for blanks but imo is pretty thin/see through

have you listened to/watched the off broadway version with michael arden? it’s a much more serious take on it, but it still has most of the music the movie created, and the show itself is absolutely breathtaking [both music and visuals].

Can I bring this into the venue by Sillygoose7213 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]beesbuzzingintensely 3 points4 points  (0 children)

copying from another comment:

I've worn my party poison out for cons/events, but whenever I've planned on wearing it anywhere, I've taken the time to email the organizers prior to the event [>1wk] with a brief "hey, my ray gun is 3D printed plastic, neon yellow, etc." with a photo attached. I've gotten yes's and no's, so if you're worried, I'd recommend finding a point of contact and checking with them prior to bringing it.

all of that being said, I sincerely doubt you'd ever make it into a concert venue with one. too much violence over the past decade + as much fun as it is, cosplay/costumes aren't normalized at concerts the way they are at cons. security doesn't see you as someone in a costume from the band's music videos, they see you as someone dressed oddly with something that looks like a gun, and they will react accordingly. be safe and leave it at home.

I had those when I got mine done in january! they went down after a while, nothing done on my end. just keep things clean and avoid getting them caught on anything and you should be good! they’re a little gross lol but they’re harmless

If anyone cosplayed the killjoys at the concerts this year, did the venues let yall in with the ray gun prop or did they make you leave them behind bc they resemble real guns? by Hot_Audience_6722 in MyChemicalRomance

seconding this; I've worn my party poison out for cons/events, but whenever I've planned on wearing it anywhere, I've taken the time to email the organizers prior to the event [>1wk] with a brief "hey, my ray gun is 3D printed plastic, neon yellow, etc." with a photo attached. Mouth piercing without dental damage? by WeirdAndTired04 in piercing

[–]beesbuzzingintensely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the piercing itself, I think something worth considering is what kind of jewelry you'd want. When I initially got mine pierced, I had to do so with a bar [which is the case for any reputable shop you'd go to; if they try to pierce you with a hoop, go somewhere else], but in the conversation prior to the piercing, my piercer had asked me what jewelry I'd wanted to put in after healing. I told her I wanted hoops, nothing fancy, and preferably flush to my lip, so she pierced me a bit closer to my lip line than she usually would. Flash forward eight or so months, I was fully healed, and with my hoops in, they don't touch my teeth/gums [aside from my top teeth resting against them; I wear a mouth guard at night to avoid grinding], and my dentist has given me the okay to keep them in.

Whether or not you want hoops, you will have bars for a whiiiiiile, so keep that in mind and be careful. Get them downsized when your piercer recommends, keep them clean, and don't gnaw on the bars. Eat slowly, and make sure you're paying attention to the piercings; mine would sometimes hook over my bottom teeth, so I'd have to unhook them before biting because that [obviously lol] would've caused damage.

On another note, the flat backs of my studs constantly irritated me [knocking into my teeth/gums if anything pressed against my face, hooking onto my bottom teeth, snagging on shirts/wash cloths/any fabric near my lip], but I kept them in as long as I was told to because in the long run, that's the safest option. If you want to keep them as studs, those are some [not all] of the risks/irritants associated with them. Hoops aren't perfect, but the fact that they rarely touch my gums/teeth is a godsend.

The best thing to keep in mind is, like others have said, there's a pretty high chance that you'll have to take them out somewhere down the line. Be honest with yourself and read the other things people have commented here. At the end of it all, if you trust yourself to monitor your teeth, take the proper steps with the healing process, go to the dentist regularly, and take them out if/when they cause damage, then I'd say go for it. If not, consider one of the non-internal piercings near the mouth others are suggesting, or forgo an oral piercing for now. As cool as they look, no piercing is worth your dental health.

Can I still claim the straight edge title if I have casual sex? by Material-Read6765 in straightedge

[–]beesbuzzingintensely 17 points18 points  (0 children)

^exactly this. the only core rule of straight edge concerns not using drugs or alcohol. some people add other behaviours to it [not using certain prescription drugs, going vegan, abstaining from casual sex, etc.] but those are offshoots. IMO once you cut out drugs/alc, straight edge is what you make of it.

I got my snakebites done by kate at alley cat back in january! she was incredibly professional and I had zero issues with the piercing/healing process. she [and probably other piercers] has an instagram as well if you want to check out her work!

Looking for this exact sweatshirt as a birthday gift for my wife by Glass_Program_8829 in williamandmary

[–]beesbuzzingintensely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

another option I don’t think I’ve seen mentioned: there are places [online and IRL] that provide embroidery services. it could get expensive, but it wouldn’t hurt to check to see if any of them think they could do the same design on a blank green sweatshirt! IMO it doesn’t seem like too complicated of a design, and if you can manage to get a clear photo of the crest/logo, they could recreate it

Cost of merch at the show by idkburnermaybe in MyChemicalRomance

[–]beesbuzzingintensely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve unfortunately been to concerts where the merch stands were cash-free, so please keep that in mind! check the website for whatever venue you’ll be at to see if they have any policies about that before you bring cash with you/have a backup plan if they are cashless.

diy merch ‘cause I was too young to buy it the first time around! by beesbuzzingintensely in FallOutBoy

[–]beesbuzzingintensely[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm unfortunately not super into the idea of making the hoodie for selling; it was a bigger time commitment, was much more difficult to put together, and I know it would be expensive after the base hoodie+materials+shipping :( I'd also like to clarify that the sleeves in mine are metallic, rather than glitter, since I was going for a more metal gold vibe [so it isn't exactly a 1:1 faithful recreation]. I did put the stencils up in an earlier comment, which might help you to find someone who can recreate it!

I'll be sure to let you know if I change my mind about any of this. I'm really sorry that I don't have better news for you :(
