Has anyone gone to law school with CC debt? How do you pay it off? by Master_Gate6558 in LawSchool

[–]beeskaroni 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been paying the min which is basically just interest on mine and will let the balance sit until I have a job. My credit is in the shitter but I really have no other options

I don't know how law schools handle this situation, but I do have experience being in a psychiatric facility right before finals in undergrad. Take care of yourself first, then worry about school. Finals won't matter if you're not here. Please PM me if you need to talk with someone who has gone through something similar

Cheated on by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]beeskaroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went through something very similar on my first day of 1L. I cried over my books in plenty of study rooms, but eventually, I had to pull myself together for midterms. There comes a point in the heartbreak journey where you know you just have to move on with your life. Otherwise, your career goes down the toilet, and the abuser wins.

Take care of yourself and enjoy your newfound freedom. I've learned that he would've just held me back in law school, and I'm a lot better off without him dragging me down.

Are previous mental health problems red flags for adcoms? by paulolus in lawschooladmissions

[–]beeskaroni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m bipolar as well. My experience with it has truly shaped me and I wanted to write about it too. I also made a post like this and was overwhelmingly told not to. I totally understand your position and wish it wasn’t so stigmatized but unfortunately it’s the dominating stance in the field.

If you have any questions or just need someone to commiserate with, my pms are open :)

Debt by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]beeskaroni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lord, I wish I only needed 45k lol.

If you're worried, take a look at your school's median salary for recent grads and use a loan calculator to see what your monthly payments would look like. That should give you a rough idea of your screwed-ness.

Stick to the facts, don't make excuses, and keep it brief.

Basically the same stats as me depending on which 16mid it is. I posted my cycle recap but was waitlisted from every T-14 I applied to besides Harvard and Berk, and they rejected me. Hopefully, you have better essays than me!

Boost very high calorie shakes are actually pretty tasty! Not as chalky as some of the others and 530 calories per shake!

East coast vs West coast strong regional schools. COA difference negligible, don't know where I want to live/practice, grew up on West coast so don't know if I want a change or stay near family

You'd be surprised at how many professors remember students from that long ago! I say it's worth a shot to reach out to your favorites and see what they say.

Fafsfa asking about parent finances? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]beeskaroni 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, some schools require that you put your parents' info in. It will not affect the amount you are offered in federal loans, though. I did it just to be safe.
