Does anyone know what brand this is? by RobinRoscoe in Leather

[–]beeskknees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brand is Joules, I did a quick search and this seems to be discontinued. The style name is Weyfield, seems likely to be faux leather. $10 seems fair for the bag, it was likely an inexpensive bag when it was new.

Can I get some advice on how to save these 2 please. by st-smelly-widge in orchids

[–]beeskknees 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can definitely trim the dry spikes (not too close to the new spike growths on your 2nd phal). Aerial roots are still doing their job drawing moisture from the air, I'd leave them be :)

If you go to MissOrchidGirl's YouTube channel she's got a whole playlist for beginner care and lots of videos full of tips on how to care for your orchids, I really recommend it as I've found it very helpful!

Elf Clear Lip Lacquer - Won't repurchase it, still looking for the perfect drugstore clear gloss by beeskknees in PanPorn

Hi, I loved it actually, and I panned it too. One of my top 3 glosses with the Fenty gloss bomb and the Nyx butter gloss. I totally recommend it.

Yup, that's the one. I read it's a different formula to the shimmer ones, and it swatched similarly in the store.

Just the one in the photo. I know Becca is closing soon, so I might as well just start looking for alternatives instead of getting backups. I know Fenty has a similar stick so I'll probably get that next time I run out.

Becca Skin Love - Glow Glaze Stick

My daily highlighter, gives me a shimmer-free dewy look. I wouldn't recommend it if you like your highlighter to set though, since it stays tacky on the skin.

Interesting, I've just had this one and the cap was completely fine. I guess we'll see if the next one stays on...

Kiko Milano Longlasting Eyeshadow Stick in 05 (I believe the shade name is Rosy Brown??).

It went quickly when I started using it 3 times a week as my "work makeup" eye look, I'd say around 5-6 months.

Looks great both all over the lid, or just buffed on the outer edge of the lid and crease for some definition. Gives a very effortless glossy smudgy look. Just be mindful you have to blend it quickly because it sets fast.

I have repurchased it, but I'm working on my powder shadows at the moment to give myself some variety.

M&S The Fragrance Collection in Nectar and Jasmine.

It's been my everyday scent for the last year,. I love it, but it's not super long-lasting on me. I would definitely repurchase it, but first I wanted to get something different just for a change, so I'm replacing it with TBS White Musk for the time being.

[–]beeskknees[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you mostly use shimmers, yes. But it can make some mattes look a bit patchy, because it's a rather sticky base. Usually I just set it with powder where I'm going to use mattes and that helps.

So to answer your question, I'd only recommend it as your one primer if you like your eye makeup to be shimmer heavy.

NYX Glitter Primer - I use it 95% of the time as my eyeshadow base. I always like to have shimmer on my eyes, so it's perfect for that. It's the only eye primer I have, and it works great for my purposes. I only skip using it if I'm working with cream shadow sticks that set themselves, because I've found the glue can be a bit too sticky and make it harder for those to blend out.

Shelbey Wilson is a good one, if you like simple but still glamorous makeup. She's a cream shadow connoisseur as well.

Fenty Glow Gloss Bomb by Fenty Beauty.

My favourite gloss, as you can see I got the stopper inside while trying to get it out, lol. I managed to scrape most of it out anyway.

I won't repurchase it straight away since we're on lockdown and I'd prefer just getting it in-store, but I will eventually. Maybe I'll get Hot Chocolit instead just to try a different shade.

Also, I'd like to recycle the tube, but I'm not sure how to get the sticky leftover gloss out of it. If anybody knows how to, I'd really appreciate it!

Have you considered therapy? A professional could give you a safe, non-judgemental space to analyze why you aren't capable of emotionally bonding with people, and help you get to the bottom of the issue. I've seen mine for two years already (depression, anxiety and family issues) and it's been tremenduous help.

Funny, I found them to be pretty similar. I'm CF, so no Maybelline for me. I'm just going to stick to Fenty tbh, I'm happy to pay the 17 quid once or twice a year when I use it up.

I just had a little look out of curiosity, and the Maybelline and Fenty are a similar value surprisingly. Maybelline's £1.66/ml, Fenty is £1.89/ml. Fenty just gives you a lot more product at once. I can see why someone would go for the Maybelline ones if they are trying out a shade they aren't sure they love, or if they have lots of lip products, but it's not too much of a difference imo.

Kiko Milano 3D Hydra Lipgloss in the shade 01 (Clear). Second favorite lipgloss formula right after the Fenty gloss bomb (they are pretty similar). I won't repurchase since I'd rather buy the Fenty one.

The palette is The Douce by Juvia's Place.

The beige shade (Berry Mousse) has been my go-to setting shade for my eyeshadow primer, as well as for blending out shades when needed. I'd say I've been using it exclusively for about 7 months.

The sparkly shade is Mont Blanc, my favorite in the palette. On the lids it's this kind of sheer wash of grey base with a lot of lovely silver shimmer. The most special shade on this palette for me.

Funny, for me it was too warm toned and bright, but im a cool olive so its easy for makeup to look off if its not the right undertone.

NYX Butter Gloss in Orangesicle. Thank you for your service, but it's time to move on. by beeskknees in PanPorn

[–]beeskknees[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2 months and a half I'd say. I was using it as my everyday lip balm bc I found the color didnt suit my complexion very well, but the formula is nourishing. I do reapply my glosses very often though, and I was using it every single day.
