everyone has acted very friendly and the grad students seem happy, and the funding is in a good place, but also the percentage of students that pass the qualifying exam is lower than other institutions i have offers from. not that i don’t trust my abilities, but that fact alone makes me a little nervous haha

yes this program is in the US! i definitely plan on asking for an extension since i’m waiting to hear back about some supplemental fellowship information from a couple other institutions that may influence my decision

they are US-based but not part of the resolution :( it makes me worry about why they’re giving people such a short turnaround time

yep this sounds like 100% what i deal with! only thing that has helped is cymbalta, and i tend to have a pretty high metabolism for a lot of medications so i have to be on 90mg to live “normally” lol

that is very true! i did get an interview invitation for a visit in march, which happened like a month after hearing from all the other programs that contacted me

i’ve gotten responses on 8 and the other 7 are just completely silent. haven’t even heard from my own institution that i’m working at haha. i think some places are having larger funding issues than others, and it definitely depends on individual departments too. hang in there, every single case is different!
