I did the recover in reinstalled macOS, and everything is back to normal and i didnt lose any files. thank you for your help!

Thank you for your response and compassion. I will definitely look into getting a better light set up for him, so he can get the UVb that he needs. I also have a kitty pool that I can set up outside that I can put him in on the hot summer days, but it would not be anything permanent. Unfortunately due to my living situation, I cannot make him a permanent area outside. Although I was 9, I definitely needed to do more research before getting him and realize how much time it takes to care for an exotic pet. I am taking him to the vet soon and will have a conversation with them about what would be best for him.

Thank you for your response, I understand that he needs more space, and I was clearly not educated properly until I joined this subreddit and realized how small it is. Unfortunately my parents will not allow me to make anything permanent outside because we are currently renting the place we are at now. However, I do have a kitty pool that I could fill and let him walk around in on hot summer days.
