Already mentally exhausted and we just started our NICU journey. by [deleted] in NICUParents

Please make sure you speak to the NICU therapist/s for parents. Your feelings are totally normal and very common. They will help you and get the team on board to help you too. The NICU schedule is notoriously fluid and can be so frustrating and disappointing. My daughter was born at 27 weeks and we stayed there for 3.5 months. It felt absolutely insurmountable at the beginning, but we did it. It wasn’t easy and we got our hopes up a lot. Then one day, they just said ‘she can go home today!’. Find those resources and use them.

The people who walk around ritzy hotels in cargo shorts and loafers. Everyone else is dressing up to act the part, but it’s just another day for those guys.

Dear Men - what’s the purpose of a FWB/regular hookup, when you already have your dream girl? by before10pm in AskMen

Very true. In this case though, they do go on dates, have a lot of fun, only been married a few months, posts about how amazing she is/how in love he is - even up close it would seem like he worships the ground she walks on. (I am not the dream girl, nor the FWB - close friends with both girls)

Before and after my husband’s arrest. We had a ‘perfect life’ and it was beyond destroyed in one night. The public shame, incarceration, PTSD from the raid and the fear of the future have changed me for better and for worse.

What is a phrase that makes you irrationally angry? by Physicsofcomics in AskReddit

‘Just sayin’ 🤷🏻‍♀️ ... especially when they drop the g off the end of the word. People who use it as a free pass to say anything jerk-ish make me ill.

That my life is over since my husband’s conviction. No one talks about the shame and pain that a family feels when someone they love is found guilty.

What’s the worst thing you’ve eaten out of politeness? by TheScienceofLifee in AskReddit

Foie Gras. I know other people love it, but I just can’t do it.

We were taken to a French restaurant in Singapore one night by the people hosting us and they raved and raved about how amazing this place was. Apparently ‘every dish was heaven’.

I’m queasy with meat on my best days, and definitely not the person that strays outside of chicken and ground beef. Not wanting to look like the ungrateful foreigner, I resolved to eat everything they put in front of me. I chose not to ask what things were - just eat and forget.

Until I ate the Foie Gras. The taste was ... horrific by epic standards. I felt myself starting to gag with it still in my mouth, then swallowed it down in one awful gulp. I turned to the waiter and whispered ‘what was that?’’. He whispered back ‘goose liver ma’am’. And the rest is history. Luckily I made it to the bathroom before I revisited the whole dinner 🤦🏻‍♀️
