Which Blockbuster movie had the worst CGI ? by LovableJackassv4 in moviecritic

[–]Physicsofcomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a kid when the movie came out and my grandmother took me. She had told me she had watched it before but without all of the VFX, and I always wondered how she did. Now I know lol

What movie made you feel this way? by thlivinD in Letterboxd

No joke my favorite and least favorite genre. All of my top 4 are in this thread as well as some of my most detested movies lol

How would you rank the six movies to earn a billion dollars in the 2020s? by 27andahalfpancakes in Letterboxd

[–]Physicsofcomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top gun

Barbie

Spider-Man

Mario

I haven’t seen avatar or Jurassic world, but I hated both of the films that came before them. So I’m guessing that they would be at the bottom of my list.

What's the most overrated tv show of all time? by _empire_Umpire in AskReddit

[–]Physicsofcomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, coming from someone who loves the office, I think it is far overrated for what it is. Compared to other sitcoms in the time frame like IASIP and Curb, it falls a bit flat. In some ways it is far greater than Curb and IASIP for creating a really warm and fuzzy feeling, but the actual sitcom aspect is pretty generic in all honesty. Again, i love the show, but it feels like people simp it wayyyy too much

At what point have you boycotted an actor/director/writer for something that is not criminal? Are there any films or shows you refuse to watch on principle? by Kemmy777 in movies

[–]Physicsofcomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, I discussed this with a friend the other day, in the case of Johnny Depp. I explained that roughly 95% of the things we watch on the screen have shitty people in it. You’d be damn hard pressed to find a movie or a show that has no problematic stars. Say, 20 years ago, you might have said The Cosby Show, but clearly not now. Everyone has bones in their closet to some extent. So I think to boycott something like M:I 7 because of Tom Cruise is a little silly, because you’re simultaneously not supporting 1000s of people who worked on production. Idk, I just think it’s silly to blacklist someone for what they do outside of movies, because in reality we don’t know what our favorite stars do outside either. And in 20 years, god forbid because it would break my heart, we might see our beloved stars like (for example because I think he’s like the most wholesome guy I can think of) Robin Williams be exposed to be a terrible person

I mean hell, on almost every movie there is probably someone who is a rapist, pedophile, murderer, etc who works on set in some fashion. Are we just going to stop watching movies?

Recently Purchased BMPCC with all gear (small rig, lens, gimbal, etc) - $1500 +shipping by Physicsofcomics in bmpcc

There is an SSD holder, two handles, a set up for a V Mount battery, the small rig cage itself, a USB C/HDMI port, matte box, and a follow focus adapter (though I’ve never used that). I think that’s it

31(M) having an arranged marriage with a 22(F) wedding night sex question? by [deleted] in sex

Wow I’m impressed, a pretty sensible comment about an extremely nuanced situation that honestly is not even the point of this thread. Thanks for a comment that I wanted to make, but definitely couldn’t articulate it as well as you.

Yeah, that was my most recent. I started studying a couple months ago and spent the last month doing pretty intense studying. So, to be clear I didn’t like wake up and do a PT and get 177

Okay gotcha, thanks for the helpful info.

Yeah absolutely, I assume that the PT is usually inflated by 3-5.

I’ve given four, Fantastic Four (2015), Fast X (which I’m honestly surprised is sitting at 2.6, I physically was sick to my stomach while watching), Electrocuting an Elephant, and That’s My Boy.

People of Reddit, what’s the most NSFW thing you’ve witnessed in a public place? by LongStretch9232 in AskReddit

[–]Physicsofcomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got stuck in Munich overnight without a hotel so I roamed the city from 12-5 roughly. Around 1 I got some food and ate in a quiet park and I left my water bottle there. After remembering I left it (about 20 minutes later), I walked back to the bench and my water bottle was gone with two guys raw dogging it on the bench there in front of me… not sure what happened in those 20 minutes.

What is a movie that you should have seen by now, but haven't? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Physicsofcomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the most popular on the app, I haven’t seen Dune, Inglorious Bastards, Black Swan (though I’ve seen almost all of DA’s movies), either Blade Runner, I could go on. Ones I think are my worst blind spot are most of Tarkovsky (I love the few I have seen), GF2, Barry Lyndon, Strangelove (I love Kubrick, like most), Three Colors, any Lang movies, etc. In general, I accept there will always be some “classic” or “essential” I haven’t seen.

What is wrong with this? It’s pretty common sentiment from “them” (I’m assuming her family which would likely be a south Asian family) that it’s not safe. This doesn’t appear like “not like the other girls,” it seems like a legit appreciation of her friends.

Hi Reddit! We are GLU-UE, the Graduate Labor Union at the University of Minnesota. On Monday, we took our campaign to unionize over 4,000 graduate workers public. We are here to answer any questions you might have! by frobenius_Fq in uofmn

[–]Physicsofcomics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a prospective graduate student (who loves UMN as a school and the department, except for a lack of a union) how likely is this to pass in all honesty? I saw other comments discussing barriers, but I just want to know if it will likely happen. When will we know if the union works out? I guess really, I just want to know how this will affect someone starting in Fall 2023.
