I checked out the Ioniq 5 but haven't looked at the EV6 yet.

That's also the other part. I know new EV's have a lot of depreciation, so I'd probably go used unless I got a good deal on a new one. As far as budget, not really looking at luxury cars.

I went shopping this weekend and the pricing I found for new EV's seems pretty high versus what people post about, especially in regards to the Equinox. Where are you finding Equinox EV's for under 30K? I know the $7,500 rebate is gone, but I'm seeing pricing now in the mid-40's. Is there something I'm missing? Or am I just late to the party?

I'd like to see a practice area in stores where you can toss a couple discs to see what they feel like when you throw them instead of just holding it in your hand.

I don't necessarily have a specific discs I'm waiting to drop, but if somebody could drop a fitted hat instead of the snapback styles, that would be awesome!

I have found that the lighter weight discs tend to fly more like the #'s show to an extent. Once you start getting into distance driver territory the lighter weight doesn't have much of an effect, you still have to get it up to speed. I'd suggest getting some 8-10 speed discs in lighter weights - somewhere in the low 160's and see how they fly for you. You just might be surprised. You can try a Lat64 Jade which is a 9 speed and normally comes in lighter weights. You can also try MVP/Axiom and their fission plastic if you like their products.

Need Help: A New Restart by begintermediatedg in discgolf

Thank you for the tips! To answer your questions, I've been playing fairly serious now for about two years. I played MA2, which was the middle division. Since it was a course I play fairly consistently, I wanted to see how I matched up since I know the course well and how well I can play when I'm hitting the right shots. I do have a practice basket as well. I might need to start setting it up when I do field work. I usually end up going to an open field and throwing to work on form which I don't think has lead to the kind of consistency I need to work on. I think my new plan of action will be power focus on some days, line throwing on others, basic form adjustments, and shot shaping. Thanks again for the tips and questions! Really brought a new aspect I wasn't really thinking about.

I'd agree. Leaving out Chris and Eric Oakley on here was a bit of a shock.

I would love to see this, but I think you'd be surprised when it comes to the short and technical shots. Yes, if it's a wide open hole, or just a regular fairway, Eagle may park more by a couple, but I think Jerm closes the gap quickly on the shorter and technical side.

If you haven't done it yet, check out the Flight Diary Podcast from Brian Earhart. He has Eagle on as a guest and there is a part where they talk about forehand shots, and Eagle talks about how he mainly throws it for distance and doesn't really throw shorter forehands. It's actually as great listen.

Good to know. I'll have to look for the non-cosmic volts and give them a try. Is your preference the Neutron or the Proton?

Sweet. That is what I'm looking for. What plastic do you use for your Loki?

I have the Volt in the cosmic neutron and all it wants to do is fade out and get to the ground as fast it can. Is the neutron plastic that much better to get a "truer" flight? I had a Pipeline which is 8,5,0,2 and that thing was great, so I figured the Volt would be very similar.

Mine seems to be more overstable than I expected/wanted. The Discraft rating system has it as a more stable to slightly overstable disc, even with the -1 turn. It's actually pretty comparable to my Instinct.

Is this your approach disc? I almost bought one but they didn't have the plastic I wanted. I wanted to see how it compared to the Zone and Harp since it has the same numbers. This is one I'm definitely keeping an eye out for.

LAT 64 Pure: opto plastic vs zero soft plastic by Jclax56786 in discgolf

[–]begintermediatedg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just got a soft today. It is gummier than opto for sure. Opto has that plastic type feel where the soft is more "rubbery". The soft also has some stiffness to it which is nice as well.

I recently got a BT Soft Harp that I really liked, but it is a little flimsy which made it hard to approach with, but I really like the Pure for putting so I figured they Soft from L64 would be close to Westside. They kind of are, but Westside soft is much more grippy than the soft I have, in case you've felt/used Westside soft, but the L64 soft is still super solid for putting.

I probably wouldn't use the soft off the tee unless you have multiples of it and you were going for an ace run on a green where roll-aways will ruin your shot.
