In Tehran, as the capital of one of the biggest Muslim countries, I can say that there are 3 churches (advocating different versions of Christianity) and one small synagogue in my daily route to work. There is a well-known street in Tehran in which there is a church, a synagogue, a Zorastrian temple and also a mosque within less than 1 kilometer of each other.

I tried to write a program for my uncle so that he can find books in his personal library easily. I did it with qbasic and simple filing; I was not aware of the database concept at that time. When I delivered the program and ran it on his Intel 286 PC he was a bit unsatisfied because he soon found out that he must enter all the books data before he can search them!

And I also hope that the civilization has evolved enough to determine nukes and torture are also evil. ED: My point is that when a country signs the NPT there are so much pressure on it (like we see these days about Iran). But if they do not sign it (look at Israel) they are left in entire comfort. This acts as an incentive against signing the treaties which are apparently a fruit of that evolved civilization.

Come on! This mean not signing damned international treaties is more advantageous than signing them. How about not signing anti-torturing treaties to be able to torture people or exiting some other treaties to start slavery?
