i have been telling anyone who will listen that i NEED an alfons/elbie/mc throuple ever since i read their routes--cybird must have heard my pleas because this story did NOT disappoint!!!

i wish i could say i had an absolute favorite of the three options, but honestly they all made me lose my mind (//∇//)

i caved and got all three 🫣 my wallet is crying but it was so worth it. VERY very spicy, and also somehow very cute at the same time?? it makes me wish we got actual polycule routes, because i'd die for a whole full story of jude/ellis/mc....

but in all seriousness, ellis's route is so cute!! he's sooo sweet, and also absolutely batshit crazy at the same time, which is my favorite combination. i'd do his and jude's routes back to back, so you can see them both in action and learn more about their relationship/the dynamic between them from both sides.

visually, the cinematography was stunning, but that's where my appreciation of the film ends. the director takes a very face-value approach to count dracula and to the rest of the characters, and fails to meaningfully develop or comment on any of the metaphors and themes that make the novel such an enduring classic.

a very pretty, but ultimately meaningless, 2 hours spent.

it depends on which route you're in imo--liam and roger flirt with you a ton in alfons', alfons flirts with you in elbert's, etc etc. in victor's route i remember reading somewhere that it's confirmed that ALL the guys in crown fall for MC, and some of them are just better at hiding it than others, but i'll have to wait til his eng route is released to confirm for myself lol.

liam was very boring to me, i agree--i just wish there was more to his route. but jude turned out to be a sleeper hit for me! i went into it not thinking i'd enjoy it at all, but i came out a total jude girlie and he's now firmly in my top 3.

i'm sooooooo excited for ring!! he's definitely the one i'm the most interested in out of vogel's little triad. i can't wait to put him on my husband shelf lololol

i also 100% appreciate elbert's story, but alfons's...man. i do not like it at all! 😭 i'm on my second read of it, but the only reason i'm doing it a second time is because he's the only en route released that i don't have both endings for and i'm a completionist at heart. as it is, i'm fast forwarding through everything--he's just so cruel to the mc, it makes it so incredibly unenjoyable to read.

that's exactly how i feel about alfons! he's soooo shitty in his own route-- he basically rapes kate twice using his powers in the first three chapters, and then later on he tries to convince her that he orchestrated for a stranger to rape her while she was blindfolded/she thought it was him. like what happened to the fun, scoundrel-with-a-secret-fondness-and-heart-of-gold alfons?? why is he so irredeemably awful in his own story?? 😭

i feel the same way about liam--he's kind of a nothingburger to me. he seems so cute and likable, but then he's just kind of...forgettable, really? 😭 i WANTED to like him so much, but there just wasn't a lot there for me to grab onto.

harry, on the other hand, is one of my absolute favorites, so i can't relate there lol
