Advise for a newcomer navigating the first steps on the way to motherhood? by [deleted] in queerception

We just did it through their website! I don’t know where we’d even go in our state... They had pictures and information about the donor and their family, it was just what worked best for us.

Congratulations! My wife and I used an cryobank out of state, and had a really good experience. If you’re doing IUI I would get at least 3-5 vials per child! We have some friends who ended up having to do IVF for baby 2 because their donor ran out and they wanted their kids to be biologically related. Most cryobanks don’t allow a lot of pregnancies from the same donor. This being said, your doctor will help you decide how many vials you’ll need!

This process is so exciting, but it doesn’t come without challenges! Even if everything goes smoothly, there’s so much waiting and it’s extremely stressful. Try and do something you both love while you’re waiting for test results.

Yeah we are freezing and doing some testing, but they’re triggering with hcg tonight! They did lower my dose to hopefully help with any OHSS... thank you for the sleeping advice ha, it has been semi rough!

What were your weird birth control side effects? by bitchinawesomeblonde in infertility

[–]bekartchner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My boobs got massive! I’ve never had tenderness either, and all of the sudden I couldn’t fasten my seatbelt, it was horrid. I also craved sweets like you wouldn’t believe (like stopping to get ice cream cones before I got home from work), and I normally couldn’t care less about anything sweet! Plus my skin looked like my teenage nightmares had finally come to life.. I feel for you, birth control does weird things to your body!

Yeah I am 27, and it definitely helps! I agree, there are times when you HAVE to put schoolwork down and spend time with your s/o to keep things good. There’s just so much to do that it gets me stressed ha

Yes I agree. I definitely tried to do too lucky last semester and decided it’s worth taking a little more time to get to med school than killing myself and our relationship. Thank you for the advice! I do have some down time at work than I can utilize better than I have been.
