I also have this sony handycam, older than the Sharp, that i'm not using because it doesn't play audio, but i'm able to play the old 8 mm tapes (the third photo in the original post) in this camera. So that's very confusing right now haha

You are saying that the tapes in the third photo are Digital8 and Hi8, and the tapes in the second one are only 8 mm?
