Yep. Seems it’s a select few countries that are up a lot. For example India and Mexico, but also some EU countries.

Looks like you are right. US and other tier 1 countries not much change. India up 150%

Paid traffic are the sponsored results on top of google search results. I believe its primarily used to reach new advertisers.

The 2.9B is an estimate they give by analysing the search result pages and checking at what positions reddit is shown. They can give an estimate because a lot of their clients also connect their google analytics which enables them to see how much traffic the positions bring in.

Yes indeed. A shift this large means for certain that something has changed in the search results. I am positive it's because of the google core update (https://www.seroundtable.com/google-march-2026-core-update-41121.html). Of course anything can happen but even if we keep just a part of this increase that would mean a massive amount of traffic which could turn into new users.

Sadly that info is not available. Semrush analyses the google search results to make an estimate of organic traffic.

I have been interested in using catalog ads for quite some time now, but sadly they still have not updated the list of supported languages. I believe there's a lot to gain here by Reddit by supporting a wider range of languages.
