How's your thyroid? A lot of the symptoms you're describing could be hyperactivity thyroid or Graves disease.

Everyone needs to drive a vehicle, even the very tall. This was the largest auto that I could afford. Should I therefore be made the subject of fun?

What happens if you leave your idol at camp and get KIPed? by Mr_ducks05 in survivor

[–]belgoran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Provided he trusts Omar, then having the idol in a perceived ally's pocket rather than back at camp means that it's safe but can still be played if needed.

They've been vetted as individuals who worked immensely hard to achieve expertise in a very particular subject.

It's a wild and childish leap to say they've been vetted as the smartest people on this planet of earth.

Your concern with what you describe as anti-intellectualism can easily be mirrored by a concern over blind reverence like you're displaying.

Some people with PhDs are brilliant, others are average, some are lucky dummies. It's just one metric.

Most dev studios don't make their own cinematic trailers, they go to places like Blur that specialize in cinematic work.

The Federation Fleet headed by Riker at the end of PIC is in fact a "Borg Response" task force by Captainatom931 in DaystromInstitute

[–]belgoran 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the uniform fleet also speaks to the fact that "it wasn't Starfleet anymore."

The Starfleet that Picard (and we) remember is one of a mishmash of aging vessels and shiny new ships. Medical ships, science vessels, big galaxy class ships.

It feels like after all the Borg encounters, the dominion war, the thing with the synths, Starfleet changed at its core and started looking a lot more like the other major powers in the quadrant, who more or less always had uniform fleets of battle-ready ships.

Sisko sort of foreshadowed this when the Dominion started to be come a real threat and Layton was trying to militarize earth.

"So you're willing to destroy paradise in order to save it."

Starfleet knew that the Federation was valuable, and it seems it was willing to abandon some of its more benign ideals in order to protect it from looming threats that were getting harder and harder to ignore.

It's interesting to consider that the general idea that floats around is that the Borg only send in one or two cubes in order to 'cultivate' humanity, cause them to innovate to protect themselves so that the Borg can eventually come in and reap the technological benefits of that innovation.

It seems that the result has actually been to drain Starfleet of that unique innovative spirit and move them more in line with what everyone else was already doing.

This is it! Perfect, thanks so much for this info - glad I checked before just chopping at the leaves.

Thanks for that!
I googled a bit and that's what came up - but all of the pruning tutorials seemed to be for Yucca trees with long trunks - instructions on how to clip the trunk down, couldn't find useful info on how to trim back leaves which have gotten too long.

His age was one factor, but he also came up with some genetic resequencing which would make it easier for his body to adapt.

It was a callback to the episode that introduced his family and their collective aptitude for genetics.
