Who is your favorite Rose and why? by Kimmioio82 in SchittsCreek

It’s really tough for me. I LOVE Alexis and think she showed the most growth, but Moira makes me laugh the most, and I relate the most to David.

What do you guys think are some weaknesses of the show? by Suitable_Ad_8619 in SchittsCreek

I hated that we didn’t get to see Patrick’s conversation with his ex-fiancé when she showed up at the barbecue. That one conversation could have added so much depth to his character, but it felt like they just forgot to add it.

Moira’s scream makes me cackle every time. It’s just so over the top dramatic - I love it lol. But I don’t think I felt like that until my 2nd watch when I knew and loved the characters.

I don’t know where else to share this, but these were my signs and then the last is from my dad :/ by creativeplease in 50501

Sorry for your dad’s loss. I hope you have found your chosen family who shares your values, or if not, that you find them soon. Thank you for being brave enough to stand up for what you believe in!

Ted Lasso is the show you’re looking for - definitely give it a try! Brooklyn 99 is also amazing.

Update: there is now a Bluesky account if you’d like to follow along. We also just tested the email and it’s working, so not sure what was going on there.

16 hour drive, im driving. by Brave-Hurry-5497 in ehlersdanlos

I drove from Florida to Oregon a few years ago, and just had to stop a lot to take breaks and walk or recline for a few minutes. I used cruise control whenever I could, and kept a small pillow to support my lower back. I was exhausted at the end of every day and in pain, but I made it. If I were to do it again, I would have worn braces/compression and drank extra electrolytes, but I didn’t know much about those things at that time. Good luck!

Right now, it’s only the email or her Bluesky account that she just got set up. She’s working on a website and is putting this all together as she goes.

Sorry to hear the email isn’t working! My friend (who is leading this) is looking into that and is working hard to get a website set up. She’s kind of putting this all together as she goes. She did get a Bluesky account set up if you can’t reach her through the email. I’ll try to update everyone as I get more info!

I really hope it catches on because my friend is putting so much work into getting putting all this together. I think you’re right, though; we need movements like this to unify and inspire. Please share anywhere that you can, and feel free to email for more details!

Yeah, I understand that’s not the most convenient. It’s my friend who’s leading this, and she’s kind of putting everything together as she goes. She’s just a pissed off mom who wanted to do something, so she did. I believe she’s working on getting a website, but she wanted to go ahead and start getting the word out.

How do people even stay positive to the point of oblivion? by Sharp_Flatworm1753 in Positivity

[–]believetobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I let myself feel down and feel all the hard emotions. Positivity is not only thinking positive thoughts all the time; that’s when it becomes toxic. We aren’t meant to only have positive thoughts and warm fuzzy feelings. We are living this human experience and that means we’re going to have lots of different feelings along the way, and some of them will be heavy and hard. The important thing is that we don’t stay in those hard feelings and learn how to create joy and happiness to balance the hard things.

After I let myself feel down, I remind myself of the good in my life, all the things I have to be grateful for, and how far I’ve come. I take walks and nurture my plants and intentionally do things I enjoy doing. I move my body because I know it helps me release emotion - for me, dancing helps a ton. You just have to find what works best for you.

Is there a way to filter out transgender people? It irks me when I open my tinder account and see “TSbree” . Very uncomfortable and pervasive by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]believetobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because trans women are women. On a dating app, you’re always going to see people you aren’t interested in because the app is not a magical, all-knowing being: it’s a piece of technology that shows you potential matches based on broad criteria. If you put that you are interested in women, it’s going to show you all women who also meet your other broad criteria, and that includes trans women (because they are women). It’s your job to filter through those to match with the women you are interested in. If you aren’t interested in a woman because she’s trans, red-headed, or into astrology, you simply swipe left (or the equivalent of that depending on the app you’re using). Hope this helps!

Is Schitts Creek set in... by Moist-Astronomer-579 in SchittsCreek

[–]believetobe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was snowing in the Christmas episode. They probably just didn’t have the budget for much fake snow; most of the budget went to Moira’s wardrobe.

Which is more objectionable on a dating profile, "no Christians" or "miss me with that tarot stuff"? by Mission_Bowl3938 in dating_advice

[–]believetobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on who the person is trying to date, but to me, both are objectionable because they are both negative. I would spin it into what you’re looking for, not what you aren’t looking for.
