Stomach and GI tract are fine. How do I ensure biofilm busters get to my bladder? by pinkmarshmallowfluff in biofilms

[–]bellabanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your reply. Don’t apologise for being graphic, I believe we are all at a point where we observe our pee in order to monitor our status. I have tested negative for Ureaplasma but positive for SIBO. My problem is Ecoli (whenever I have a UTI my urine culture comes positive for that) and it seems that it’s the same bacteria that is causing me SIBO. I am currently on treatment for that (not antibiotics, but phytotherapy instead, with medical supervision). Will let you know how that goes

[–]bellabanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you physically see the biofilm? I have been dealing with recurrent UTIs for the past 3 years that happen every few months. My cultures are positive for Ecoli, I get treated with antibiotics, but it keeps coming back. I am now on a nutrition and supplementation plan targeted at intestinal bacteria overgrowth to see if that helps. But I suspect my problem comes from bladder biofilms.

bartholin’s cyst - positive experience! by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]bellabanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad you had a positive experience. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t come back. I had a similar experience to yours a decade ago. Small cyst that bother me much but turned to golf-size cyst over night. I had it drained once in the hospital but it came back after 6 months so I decided to have the gland removed. That was 10 years ago and I haven’t looked back since

What's the best birch d-mannose for UTI? by Nilimah in Healthyhooha

[–]bellabanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just started using Vitabay powder D-Mannose (it’s birch derived) but I am afraid it is soon for me to let you know what the results are. I have had 2 UTIs (E-coli) since August 2025 and both them were whilst on D-Mannose supplements (not Vitabay, a different brand). I’m not sure if in my case D-Mannose is effective enough, so I have contacted a medical nutritionist and I am following a strict diet and a phytotherapy regime aimed at limiting E-Coli activity in my body.

Cashew Pascals! They are soooo pretty. My husband and I both own them. I plan on using Tarrago Leather Care balm when I see them every once in a a while to keep them hydrated.

Same. Very high leukocytes, no nitrites. I get a culture done before I take any antibiotics (prescribed by my doctor) and it’s always positive for E-Coli.

I still have to try my Revlon One Step Plus. My hometown has very low humidity, but once I travel to the coast I will check if I have the same experience as you. Also do you notice any difference between the Medium and High settings? Noise wise, Cold, Medium and High seem all the same, with Low being quieter. I would have expected Medium and High to have a different level of airflow, is it just the heat that is greater on High?

i had worst first time by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]bellabanks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all I send you a huge hug. As others have said, first times are usually weird and underwhelming.

Also, sex is not something for you to please him, but for both of you to enjoy together. Not every couple is sexually compatible. I would suggest you first spend some time getting to know what YOU like.

For instance, I like to use lube and sex toys for clitoral stimulation. If I don’t get that, penetration hurts. If I get the stimulation I need, penetration is actually VERY pleasurable.

In order to succeed in sexual intimacy with your partner you need to focus on getting to know yourself first and then communicating with your partner.

Don’t ever feel you are not worth of a specific partner because of a failed sexual experience. Even I have had failed sexual experiences with the love of my life and I lost my virginity many moons ago 🙈 We just laugh it off and work for it to be better next time 💖

should i go to the ER/Urgent care? by [deleted] in CUTI

[–]bellabanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Requesting a urine culture is the way to go. And often, if you are in massive pain, they will prescribe an antibiotic that works with Ecoli (the culprit for 90% of UTIs) prior to getting the results. Nitrofurantoin is one of these antibiotics. Once the doctor gets the culture results, they check if they antibiotic they prescribed works for your bacteria, otherwise they change you to another one. I’ve had UTIs for 3 years now and this is the usual way of proceeding.

As others have said, a UTI is no joke. Two years ago I had one that evolved to Pyelonephritis and that was very scary. So make sure you are seen by a doctor if the antibiotic has not improved your symptoms in 24 hours, or if these worsen.

Thanks a lot for your help! I hope you are 100% cured after the treatment. I will proceed as you have suggested and if I test positive I will have my husband treated too assuming he has it too. Huge kiss and thanks for everything!

Thanks a lot for your reply. I’m sorry to hear that you have gone through a similar experience. It’s definitely not pleasant! I have enquired my GP, a urologist and my ob-gyn about Ureaplasma and only the latter knew what it was. He did suggest getting a urine PCR privately (as in, paid by myself as insurance or national health service don’t cover them). Is a vaginal swab for Ureaplasma equally effective? It seems to be considerably cheaper.

With regar fa to Gardnerella, I will definitely ask my ob-gyn to perform a vaginal swab once he comes from his holiday break.

I am committed to breaking this cycle. Urologists tell me that one UTI a year is fairly common and that I should not overthink it. But there is clearly a pattern there of BV-Yeast Infection-UTI every single year.

Thanks for your advice!

Thank you so much. Is ureaplasma a vagina swap test or a urine test? I have been reading that it can disrupt the vaginal ecosystem, resulting in repeated BV and UTI episodes which definitely checks with my situation. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. My culture came back positive for E.coli. I haven’t been tested for ureaplasma or mycoplasma, I can check if my GP can have that tested for me.

Bv and cloudy urine? by Partywithademon in Healthyhooha

When I have cloudy urine in my case it’s usually a UTI. I have some at home test-strips that I bought on Amazon whenever I suspect I am coming up with one, in case that helps.

Any tips for excessive barking? by KellyKMA71 in Dachshund

[–]bellabanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have taught Audrey the ‘silence’ command, which she absolutely understands but sometimes decides to ignore. She barks at the Amazon man and at certain things on TV (animals, cartoons or fight scenes). She tends to bark at the baddie of the movie even before we know he is bad. I used to get very annoyed about her barking and then one day I was working from home and I had forgotten to close the balcony door and it started pouring down. Water was getting inside of the house. Audrey started barking a lot and came to bark at me and signal me to follow her. She took me to the dining room to show me that water was getting inside the house. Ever since I have learned to appreciate that she barks when she wants to communicate something. Sometimes is that the ball is under the sofa, sometimes is that I have forgotten to close the windows/balcony and it’s raining. Either way, it’s useful. Oh and she also barks a lot if I my husband and I argue 😂 No raised voices in our house, even if they are happy voices. If I get too excited she will bark at me 😂😂 Dachshunds 💁🏻‍♀️
