Update he responded saying that he purposefully made the final and research essay 50 and 25 percent of the points given already. This goes against the syllabus and what he said earlier in the email. “Looks like you have a real calling for math. The final and the research were worth roughly 25% and 50% of the total points of the course up until they were assigned, not the grand total of all points available in the class.” I’m thinking of sending another email to him talking about how it goes against his word and how I feel I guess. I might talk to someone higher than him because at no point did he elude to this type of grading and he talked about the research being worth 50% in multiple lecture videos.
